LG’s new G4 phone will reach consumers on April 29 — at least those in South Korea, the company told CNET.

LG touted the new phone and a special promotion via a Korean blog posted on Monday. The blog didn’t reveal when the phone will hit retailers in other countries. LG told CNET that other markets will announce their respective rollout dates after April 28, the same date the company will hold a launch event for the new phone.

Last year, LG kicked off its G3 initially in South Korea and then later introduced it to other regions.

To entice customers, LG is offering a couple of freebies. Bu…………… continues on CNET

News from Digital Trends:

You bought a smartwatch and were catapulted into the future, but you can’t feel like James Bond until you set up your new wearable. The LG G Watch was released in the summer of 2014 and it was one of the first smartwatches on the market. Set up only takes a few steps, so you’ll be talking to yourself on the street in no time.

Step 3: Open the app and follow the onscreen instructions. If you ignored the last step, the app will make you turn your Bluetooth on.

Phone Comparisons: LG G Flex 2 vs LG G Flex
News from Android Headlines – Android News:

Boy do we have a good one for you today – the newest LG G Flex 2 goes up against the original LG G Flex.  Now I know what you are saying, “How can a year old device possibly beat out the newer version”…and I know that is the nicest thing you could say.  What we are doing here is simply showing you the differences between the two devices – what areas did LG improve or make changes to this device.  If LG did their homework properly, then certainly the LG G Flex 2 should win this comparison…but are the improvements enough to warrant the purchase of this first mass-produced flexible smartphone sold in the US.

Because these smartphones are the same model, only updated, they do have a few things in common.  They both have 32GB of internal storage – the G Flex 2 does have a 2GB/16GB model, however, the only one offered by the US carriers is the 3GB/32GB model.  They both offer a 13MP main camera with autofocus (the G Flex 2 has Laser Autofocus), and LED flash (the G Flex 2 has Dual-LED) and they both have a 2.1MP front-facing camera (FFC).  They are fairly close in size with the original G Flex about 4/10-inch larger and 25 grams heavier.  Both of the G Flex have the dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC capabilities, cu…………… continues on Android Headlines – Android News

Moto 360 vs LG G Watch R, choice depends
News from Phones Review:

Wearable technology is a growing sector of the mobile device market, and we’ve seen an increasing amount of smart watches being released by major manufacturers. Motorola and LG are two of these makers, and today we have a video of the Moto 360 vs. LG G Watch R that could help you out if you’re trying to decide which one to purchase or add to your Christmas wish list.

The Moto 360 smartwatch arrived in September and was more recently joined by the LG G Watch R, another device with a traditional round face. These are both Android Wear smartwatches, so much of your decision could come down to the designs and hardware.

Beneath this story we’ve embedded a YouTube video from Phone Dog showing a shootout between these two smartwatches. The comparison begins with showing the designs and it’s clear that they are in fact pretty similar to look at, although the straps are quite different. This part of the video…………… continues on Phones Review

LG G Watch R review: pricey but worth it

LG G Watch R review: pricey but worth it
News from Telegraph.co.uk:

Its 1.3-inch P-OLED display is crisp and has a decent resolution of 320 x 320, but the screen sensitivity can be slightly hit and miss, leaving your tapping the watch face several times to summon the menu you’re after. The leather strap quickly develops a ridge around the notch of your choice, although a variety of interchangeable 22mm straps are available should you fancy a change. The choice of 13 different watch faces is also a nice touch, giving you a choice between sophisticated timepiece faces and more colourful digital offerings.

Commands are triggered through either scrolling through a series of ‘cards’, launched by swiping upwards from the bottom of the screen, or through Google Voice Search. The voice search is pleasingly accurate, even in crowded environments, and results can be ‘thrown back’ to your phone so you’re able to continue reading on a larger screen. It’s a simple system that looks great and generally works well. I paired the G Watch R with an LG G3, which worked together seamlessly.

Its pedometer is accurate, and being able to change the track you’re listening to via your phone from your wrist is a welcome feature. Sending emails and texts via voice command was a straightforward process, alongside opting to answer incoming calls to your phone.

LG claims that with the Always On screen mode disabled, the 410mAh battery will powe…………… continues on Telegraph.co.uk

LG G Flex 2 release date: LG to launch new phone at the 2015 International CES …
News from ChristianToday:

LG G Flex

When Apple surprisingly announced that the iPhone 6 has a bending feature, Apple followers and non-followers were immediately intrigued by it. But later, the hype died down a bit when reviews came out about the iPhone 6 actually breaking or not going back to its shape once bent.

What many aren’t aware of is that LG already launched a phone last year that has the ability to bend, the LG G Flex. While it may not have gained that much traction as the iPhone, it certainly has more features worth looking into.

The LG G Flex has a 6-inch screen and the phone is bendable. It also had a self-healing back that can repair its own minor damage and scratches. But this phone was released in October of 2013 and it’s time for a newer version of it. Thus, LG is said to be getting ready to launch the LG G Flex 2.

Android Authority reported that the Flex 2 will be more flexible. It will be made of a special hard rubber chassis that can bend up to 90 degrees. But if there’s one thing that really makes this new phone interesting, it is the rumored flexible battery. After all, common…………… continues on ChristianToday

Battle of the smartwatches: LG’s G Watch, Samsung Gear Live, Samsung Gear 2 …
News from IBNLive:

New York: New Android wristwatches from Samsung and LG make a few evolutionary advances, though I won’t be rushing out to buy either.

Samsung’s Gear Live and LG’s G Watch are good products and will appeal to those who like to be among the first to own new gadgets.

ALSO SEE Android Wear review: Rather limited in what it can do now but should evolve fast

The watches serve as pedometers and let you catch up on email, texts and Facebook notifications while your phone is in your pocket or charging in the bedroom. Even with the phone in your hand, you can check messages on the watch and keep playing video on the phone.

Samsung’s Gear Live and LG’s G Watch are good products and will appeal to those who like to be among the first to own new gadgets.

Both smartwatches try to keep things simple through voice commands rather than touch. They use Google’s Android Wear system, which I reviewed earlier.

LG G3 vs Galaxy S5 head-to-head review
News from V3.co.uk:

Since Samsung launched the Galaxy S2 in 2011, its share of the Android market has been growing at a phenomenal rate. Its Korean sibling LG – despite success on other shores – always held a modest share of the UK smartphone market and has been fairly quiet until recently.

But in June, LG released probably its best smartphone to date, the G3. Yet, with Samsung having released its own flagship months before – the Galaxy S5, which has equally impressive specifications – many buyers have justifiably wondered which handset is most worth their attention and hard-earned cash.

Design and build
Both the Galaxy S5 and G3 have very different designs, despite both featuring removable polycarbonate backplates and metallic sides.

This is primarily because of the G3′s button placement. Unlike the Galaxy S5 and most other handsets, the G3′s volume and power buttons are on its back, rather tha…………… continues on V3.co.uk

Android this week: Amazon phone soon; LG G Watch priced; Galaxy S5 reviewed
News from GigaOM:

Apr. 12, 2014 – 6:20 AM PDT Apr. 12, 2014 – 6:20 AM PDT

When you think of Android, you probably don’t think of Amazon. You should. Amazon has slowly built up a product line off of the open Android software, starting first with Kindle Fire tablets and more recently with its Fire TV set-top box. The third pillar of “fire” is shaping up to be Amazon’s smartphone with an expected June announcement.

There’s no official name for the handset yet — I like the Fire Fone, but that’s just me — which has long been rumored. Sources told the Wall Street Journal this week that Amazon’s phone will go on sale three months after its introduction, meaning a September launch month. Few details have leaked, save for the recurring rumor of multiple eye- and head-tracking cameras in the phone and a glasses-free 3-D screen. The former makes more sense to me than the latter as Amazon can better learn where consumers are looking when browsing products on Amazon’s website.

Specs for possible new flagship phone from LG leak
News from DigitalJournal.com:

Credible specifications for what appears to be a new flagship phone from South Korean manufacturer LG have leaked online.

Details for a device named the LG LS990 have been found by myLGphones.com who found a profile for the device on the website of US carrier Sprint although some details differ from those published by respected leaker @evleaks on Twitter last month as it was said that the phone’s model number would be D850.

Either way, the specifications match that of a modern high-end flagship device which will most likely be released as the LG G3, the successor to last years G2. It boasts a qHD resolution of 2560x1440px on a 5.5″ display giving the device a pixel density…………… continues on DigitalJournal.com
