One way LG’s upcoming monster Android phone might disappoint you
News from BGR:

LG in a few days will take the wraps off the LG G4, its 2015 flagship handset designed to fight against Samsung’s Galaxy S6 models and HTC’s One M9. The device is hardly a secret anymore, as not only has LG started to tease various features of the handset, but a consistent leak earlier this week revealed many details about the smartphone. While the leaks so far revealed the phone will indeed be one of the best handsets of the year, it’ll also disappoint certain fans, G for Games has found out.

The publication says the phone will not sport the same top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 that should be found on various flagships this year, including the HTC One M9. Instead, according to a leaked image posted

LG G Flex 2

Before 2014 ended, LG announced an Android-powered smartphone with a unique feature – animated eyes.

Since its initial launch, the LG AKA has only been available in South Korea. However, it seems LG is looking to make a big splash in the international market as well.

According to a report by Phone Arena, the Android handset will soon become available in the international market. Some countries that will be getting the device in a few weeks include Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore and Turkey.

While the LG AKA may look like an ordinary phone, it transforms instantly when placed on a specially designed phone case. Its main selling point is the animated eyes that appear and “interact” with the consumers.

Some of the things that the “eyes” react on include incoming calls, appointments or meetings, and messages.

For interested buyers, the LG AKA is strictly a midranger, if not an entry-level device. It boasts a 5-inch display with HD or 1280 x 720 resolution, a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz and a 1.5GB RAM.

Other specs include an 8MP primary shooter at the back and a 2M…………… continues on Christian Post

LG is making the next Nexus phone, apparently
News from Stuff Magazine:

Google’s yearly Nexus smartphone is the flagbearer for the entire Android camp. It’s the first device to land with the latest and greatest version of Google’s mobile OS, and it’s the number one choice for purists.

You could argue that the Nexus 6, with its gargantuan screen and un-Nexus-like price tag has dropped the ball a bit, which is why Google could be going back to LG for its next-gen Android poster child.

The latest whispers from the online rumour mill, courtesy of Korean site eToday, report that Google’s engineers recently visited LG’s headquarters in South Korea to discuss the production of a mystery device known as the N000.

That, apparently, is the codename for the next Nexus, which would be called the Nexus 7 following the current naming scene. Which, as you probably know, is the name of an existing Google tablet. Of course, the triple zeroes could hint at a fresh name, one void of a numbering system altogether. Or not. Who knows! Anything goes in rumour land.

If the whispers do prove to be true, then this will be th…………… continues on Stuff Magazine

Hands On With the LG Fireweb Firefox Phone
News from PC Magazine:

The latest low-cost Firefox phone raises the processor bar, but keeps things basic.

LAS VEGASMozilla is aiming its line of Firefox phones at emerging markets, promising smartphone power at sub-smartphone prices. The latest entry, the LG Fireweb, is a bigger, faster Firefox phone, but still keeps prices down. We go hands on at CES.

The LG Fireweb is a boxy, squarish phone, with a 1GHz processor, 4-inch, 320-by-480 screen and 5-megapixel camera. That gives it a leg up on the earlier ZTE Open, but it’s still a lower-resolution screen than I’m used to seeing at this size. It’s a 3G phone on AT&T’s bands, and it has GPS and a built-in FM radio.

LG to match Samsung with 2K resolution on upcoming G3 smartphone
News from BGR:

It looks like LG’s next-generation flagship phone for 2014 might have something a bit more impressive to tout than buttons on the back of the device. According to a report from ZDNet Korea, LG may have leaked the specs of its next generation flagship phone, the LG G3. It is rumored to have a 1,440 x 2,560-pixel quad HD display. Quad HD is another name for 2K resolution, which refers to a display that has a horizontal resolution (or vertical resolution, in the case of smartphones) of more than 2,000 pixels. The rumor does not specify how large the display will be, but LG showed off a new 5.5-inch quad HD display this August. ZDNet Korea’s report also says that the G3 will feature a 16-megapixel rear camera and an eight-core processor. The G3 isn’t expected to launch until the second half of 2014.

LG Mobile hints at upcoming ‘new series’ that will feature an ‘unexpected …
News from PhoneDog:

Love surprises? Then you’ll be excited to hear that that’s exactly what LG has up it sleeve. The company recent took to the official LG Mobile Facebook page to post a teaser image that features a red bow and the declaration “New series will be unveiled.” The description of the image invites us to “see what surprise LG has in store” and teases that said surprise has “an unexpected distinction.”

There’s no mention on the page of exactly when LG’s surprise will be revealed, but with Mobile World Congress slated to kick off later this month, that show seems like as good a place as any for LG to show off something new. Exactly what that something is is still a mystery for now, though.

Last year at MWC, LG took the wraps off of its new Optimus L-Series li…………… continues on PhoneDog

LG teases upcoming quad-core Optimus G on video

LG teases upcoming quad-core Optimus G on video
News from Android Community:

LG is at it again today by teasing everyone about their upcoming quad-core smartphone called the Optimus G. This time around they are calling it “The Newest Premium Quad-Core Smartphone.” And have released a quick teaser video over on YouTube to get everyone excited about a smartphone without limits.

This new smartphone has been teased once before, then leaked, then officially announced by LG and Qualcomm themselves so it’s safe to say they are plenty excited about it. The clip is rather short and doesn’t really give us anything new or show the device (other than a glance at the front) but it does make a big point on the quad-core processor. Enough talk, enjoy the video below.

Again for those that aren’t too sure, this phone should be a beast. LG’s mentioned it as rocking their brand new TrueHD IPS panel that is 4.7-inches in size, rocks Qualcomm’s brand new S4 Pro quad-core processor, has 2GB of RAM, 13 megapixel camera, and will have 4G LTE in select markets.

LG and Qualcomm have confirmed the impressive new smartphone will be arriving as soon as mid September, so we can expect to be learning all the official details extremely soon. Then Qualcomm also stated it would arrive…………… continues on Android Community

LG’s upcoming flagship phone will showcase new laminated 720p display, better …
News from The Verge:

LG is confirming a number of rumors about its upcoming quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro-based smartphone, and from the sound of it, the device is pushing Android phone design ahead on a number of fronts. The phone, codenamed the G (“Optimus” is conspicuously missing from the press release), won’t just be the first with Qualcomm’s new APQ8064 processor, it will be the first with LG Display’s new True HD IPS+, as well. According to LG, that means the G’s 4.7-inch 1280×768 LCD will be able to display an all-white screen at 470 nits of brightness using 70 percent less power than AMOLED. And unlike a lot of AMOLED displays on the market, this will have an ordinary RGB stripe rather than the divisive RGBG PenTile pixel arrangement. The new screen tech is headed to the Optimus Vu 2 as well, says LG, presumably sometime later in the year.

This sounds exactly like the ‘in-cell’ touchscreens LG began mass-producing earlier this month

Perhaps more importantly, this will also be the first display from LG to have a new laminated touchscreen, called the G2 Touch Hybr…………… continues on The Verge

So how many upcoming LG Windows Phones are there?

The LG Optimus 4X HD
News from Superior Hardware And Software – Caribbean Media Vision:

Back in 2010, LG’s 2X was the first smartphone to come packed with a 1 GHz dual-core processor under the hood. Soon after, other manufacturers started to launch their own handsets sporting these powerful processors. In 2011, the most popular of these handsets was the Samsung Galaxy S2. Now, LG has officially launched another super phone. This is the LG Optimus 4X HD. This phone comes with superior hardware and software only a handful of devices can compete with.

LG’s new super phone comes with one of the largest touch screens in the market. It sports a 4.7 inch HD-IPS LCD capacitive touch screen sporting a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Only a few smartphones in the market sport similar screen sizes. One is the Windows Phone-powered HTC Titan. Another is the HTC One X.

When it comes to storage, the phone sports 16 GB of internal memory. This will allow you to store things like videos, pictures, apps, and other files. Of course, there’s always a chance that the 16 GB of storage will not be enough for your files and multi-media. If this is what you’re worried about, there’s no need to worry. The smartphone supports as much as 32 GB from a micro-SD card.

With all the storage options the phone has to offer, you are sure to download a lot of apps, capture memories, and upload them to your favorite social network using the LG Optimus 4X HD. Thankfu…………… continues on Superior Hardware And Software – Caribbean Media Vision

Friends Don’t Let Friends Buy Cheap Android Phones
News from PCWorld:

Not everything that’s free is good. When it comes to Android phones, free can be a bad thing.

Android is quirky–the operating system has seen its fair share of ups and downs, but fans have stuck by it through thick and thin. We’ve survived malware scares, buggy phones, and some severe device fragmentation. However, all of that pales in comparison to the real danger to Android: cheap Android phones.

Cheaply made Android phones are the worst thing to happen to the mobile OS since the discovery of malware in the Google Play store. Not only are these “budget-friendly phones” frustrating to use, but their outdated specs and lack of manufacturer and carrier support mean you’ll end up with a dud no matter which one you choose.

Before you hit the comments section to tell me how wrong I am, hear me out. When I say “cheap Android phones,” I’m not talking about phones that were at one time $ 299 and are now free–those are generally okay. No, the offending phones I’m warning you about usually cost less than $ 50 and are often marketed on the low price alone.
