LG announces Optimus LTE2, coming to Korea mid-May with True HD IPS and 2GB RAM
News from Engadget:

Unlike today’s other phone announcement, we can’t say we were expecting to see LG come out with something of its own — and it’s a bit of a doozy, at that. Samsung’s Korean rival decided not to let the Galaxy S III have the full spotlight for long, officially unleashing the Optimus LTE2. The mind-blowing portion of the spec sheet is its inclusion of 2GB RAM, a milestone we haven’t yet seen in a smartphone. Additionally, the LTE2 will feature the company’s “True HD IPS” display, WPC-backed wireless charging capabilities, Android 4.0 and a 2,150mAh battery that LG claims will increase the battery life by an astounding 40 percent. We haven’t received word on which CPU will be used, though we’re hopeful that a quad-core beast (or Krait, perhaps?) will complement the astounding amount of RAM. The LTE2 is due to land on at least three carriers in Korea sometime in mid-May, but we haven’t heard any pricing or additional country availability at this time. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more. In the meantime, check out LG’s Flickr pag…………… continues on Engadget

LG Denies Plans to Abandon Windows Phone
News from PC Magazine:

LG this week denied that it will abandon the Windows Phone platform, though it did concede that its primary focus is Android devices.

“No, we are not giving up on Windows Phone,” an LG spokesman said in an email. “Although we don’t have another Windows device in the pipeline at this moment, that is simply because demand for Android devices is so strong.”

“We’ve maintained since the beginning that LG will support whatever operating system consumers want but at the moment, our priority is to get our Android devices to a level where we feel we’ve covered all the bases, to use an American analogy,” the spokesman continued.

News of LG abandoning Windows Phone made the rounds yesterday after a report in the Korea Herald said that LG was “taking a step back from Windows phones.”

The report also said that Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer would meet with LG’s Koo Bon-joon during the Seoul Digital Forum on May 22.

The LG spokesman said the Korea Herald was taking things out of context and likened the publication t…………… continues on PC Magazine

LG Optimus True HD LTE official in Germany
News from SlashGear:

Worth Reading?

The LG Optimus LTE P936 made a suitably leaky appearance last month which seemed to be bound for Europe, and now LG has confirmed it. The company will be bringing the handset to German carriers as the LG Optimus True HD LTE. Why “True HD”? The 720p screen on the phone uses a full RGB matrix unlike current AMOLED 720p screens which use a PenTile matrix. LG hammered this point home back at CES 2012 for the LG Spectrum, and looks like the marketing isn’t letting up even for this variant.

Specifications are the same as what we’ve seen on the LG Spectrum and LG Nitro HD: a 4.5-inch LCD screen with a 720p IPS display, 1.5Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, eight megapixel camera, and 1.3 megapixel front facing camera. Unfortunately, Gingerbread will greet you when you power up the phone, but hopefully Ice Cream Sandwich will make an appearance. Th…………… continues on SlashGear

LG Optimus L3 Review By 3G.co.uk
News from 3G.co.uk:

LG has brought out its first handset in the ‘L-Style’s’ series – the smallest of the upcoming trio is entitled the Optimus L3. At 3.2in it is far smaller than the 4in Optimus L5 and the Optimus L7, which measures up at 4.3inches. LG has focused on design with its handsets recently, with the release of the Prada Phone by LG 3.0 at the end of last year, but does the Optimus L3 have more in the way of beauty rather than brains?

Square design

The neat-sized Optimus L3 doesn’t look like any of the other small Android phones, as it has a sleek design with square edges and a retro, minimalist styling – and despite its small stature, it’s amazingly heavy. That makes it nice to hold and very sturdy.

The display measures 3.2 inches, which is rather small if you’re used to handsets with displays that are a couple of inches bigger. There are five desktops on offer; each can have a limited choice of widgets and shortcuts added. Below the display there is a pair of touch-sensitive buttons for Back and Menu, plus a physical…………… continues on 3G.co.uk
