News from Tech Times:

LG G Flex 2 has finally hit U.S. shores. The incredibly bendy and self-healing phone is available exclusively from Sprint.

Get your back pockets ready for a new curved phone experience. LG’s G Flex 2 curved screen smartphones are finally available from Sprint for a contract price of just $ 200.

Sprint will also offer the top-of-the-line smartphone in Platinum Silver and the exclusive “Volcano Red” color.

Although the incredibly bendy and self-healing phone (from minor scratches at least) already debuted in its homeland of South Korea last month, March 13 marked the phone’s launch on U.S. shores.

The phone is only available with Sprint at this time and the mobile carrier offers several options for the unique curved screen phone

First, you can opt to buy the phone outright for $ 504, plus taxes, without a contract.

If that sounds a bit too hefty for your budget, you can also opt for Sprint’s Easy Pay installment plan, which breaks down payments into 24 monthly drops of $ 21. Incidentally, that’s the

LG G4 looks set to be even bigger than we expected
News from TechRadar:

A new rumour about the upcoming LG G4 claims that it will come with a 5.6-inch screen, placing it firmly in the phablet category.

The new leak comes from the @OnLeaks twitter account, which is generally well regarded for its tips on smartphones that have yet to be released.

Although the LG G4 could see a big increase in screen real estate compared to the LG G3, another rumour suggests that LG will release an even bigger handset, possibly called the LG G4 Note, later this year with a 5.8-inch display and its own stylus.

Sprint LG G Flex now receiving Android 4.4 KitKat
News from Phandroid.com:

After watching as the last of the LG G2′s received their updates to Android 4.4.2 KitKat last week, it’s now time to finish up work on its cousin, the LG G Flex. After the Korean model saw its KitKat upgrade back towards the end of March, followed closely by AT&T’s version on April 17th, Sprint has announced that they’ve begun rolling out the latest version of Android for their model as well. Sprint’s changelog, doesn’t divulge much, but we have to admit, it gave us a good chuckle. Brace yourselves, it’s a long one:</…………… continues on Phandroid.com

LG G3 leaks in the wild, offers first look at new rear-mounted button design
News from Phandroid.com:

It’s not much, but it appears as if we may finally have our first real look at the LG G3. An alleged leaked picture of the device in the wild is giving us a pretty clear look at the back of the device, showing off LG’s trademark rear-facing button setup. We fear the new buttons — which appear to be much more flat than they were on the G2 — could make it difficult to feel around for the buttons solely by touch, but we do like the new aluminum accents.

If you’re wondering what the black hole is on the side of the camera (opposite from the LED flash), that’s a rear facing IR blaster, a setup we also saw on the LG G Flex (image here). On a more personal note, I recently found myself moving back continues on Phandroid.com

LG G Flex (Sprint): Full Review – LAPTOP Magazine
News from LG G Flex (Sprint): Full Review – LAPTOP Magazine:

The feature list for the LG Flex reads like a superhero character cocktail. This Android phone reminds us of Plastic Man, sporting a curved display and bendable design that can withstand up to 80 pounds of pressure without cracking. It’s also like Wolverine, with a polymer back that heals itself from some minor scratches. However, at $ 299 on Sprint, this pricey 6-inch Android handset is also Hulk-like in terms of its size. Is the LG G Flex the shape of things to come in the smartphone world or just a gadget full of gimmicks?

LG Mach (Sprint)

LG Mach (Sprint)
News from PC Magazine:

By Alex Colon

The LG Mach is Sprint’s second best keyboarded smartphone. That actually speaks more to the lack of good keyboarded smartphones out there than it does the strengths of this phone. On the positive side, the $ 99.99 LG Mach gets you solid performance, better battery life, and an excellent QWERTY keyboard for $ 100 less than the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE . On the other hand, the Photon Q bests the Mach in nearly every other category. The Mach is a decent option if you’re looking to save 100 bucks, but it’s not the best option available.

LG Spectrum 2 Review – Android Community
News from LG Spectrum 2 Review – Android Community:

Mid-range smartphones are a mixed bag — most of them are decent, but at the end of the day, they usually still leave something to be desired. However, every once in a while, a mid-range device will come along that’s worthy of its accolades and has flagship specs at a budget price. The LG Spectrum 2, which is available now at Verizon for $ 99, seems to be one of those devices. It’s based off the LG Optimus LTE II that was released in Korea earlier this year. LG and Verizon made a few changes to the design and specs, and ended up spitting out the Spectrum 2 to US users. The phone sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core chip, 1GB of RAM, a 4.7-inch 720p HD IPS display, and even NFC and wireless charging capabilities — not a bad combination of features, but we have to see if the handset can use them advantageously. Let’s find out what this thing is capable of.

LG Optimus G (Sprint)

LG Optimus G (Sprint)
News from PC Magazine:

By Alex Colon

I really wanted to love the LG Optimus G (available starting November 11 for $ 199.99). Everything about it, from the quad-core processor to the 13-megapixel camera to the sleek design, pretty much screams Editors’ Choice. But this is an unfortunate example in which the whole is not greater than the sum of its parts. On the plus side, the Optimus G’s quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor turned in the fastest benchmarks scores we’ve ever seen on an Android phone. But the 13-megapixel camera doesn’t live up to its lofty resolution rating, the phone has a tendency to run hot, and the lack of a microSD slot limits your storage options. If you want the ultimate in pure processing power, it’s worth your attention, but if you want the best smartphone on Sprint, I’m afraid this isn’t quite it.

LG plans to recast mobile phone business
News from Rediff:

LG Electronics, India’s [ Images ] largest consumer durables company, is looking to plug a chink in its armour. The company plans to re-launch its mobile phone business, a segment where it lags archrival Samsung Electronics.

People in the know say LG is expected to launch some high-end models, once 4G mobile phone technology picks pace in India.

Currently, telecom operators such as Airtel offer 4G technology in cities such as Kolkata [ Images ] and Bangalore, and it is expected the technology would gather steam after the entry of more players next year.

Until then, LG plans to have “miniscule” presence in the segment. It has already scaled down its presence in the feature phone (regular handset) market, emphasising largely on the smartphone market, in which it has the Optimus brand.

However, owing to lack of demand for LG smartphones, key retailers such as Future Group, Tata Group’s Chroma, Vivek’s and regional chains such Snehanjali do not stock…………… continues on Rediff

Sprint adds 10-inch Galaxy Tab, LG phones to 4G LTE lineup

Sprint adds 10-inch Galaxy Tab, LG phones to 4G LTE lineup
News from NBCNews.com:

9 hrs.

A tablet, two phones, and a dongle walk into a bar. Actually, they walk into Sprint’s 4G LTE lineup, but these high-speed devices are no joke.

First there is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, which was released earlier this year to warm reviews but has lost some of its luster to competitors like the recently super-sized Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet. The 10-in. Galaxy Tab has been updated to support Sprint’s 4G LTE network and it’s still as slim as before, but its processor and cameras are lacking compared to the competition.

Next is the LG Optimus G with its huge 4.7-in. HD screen and quad-core processor. Even though it’s a phone, it’s easily more powerful than the Galaxy Tab, and probably not a whole lot easier to fit in your pocket. Sprint’s version has a 13-megapixel camera, which sounds impressive, but as the iPhone 5 has shown, what matters is real-life usage.

If you don’t want quite that much screen real estate, Sprint is also getting the LG Mach (not to be confused with 2010′s Optimus Mach), a full-QWERTY mid-range phone with a 4″ screen and a lot of built-in LG apps for things like note-taking and pictures.

All these Android devices are shipping with ve…………… continues on NBCNews.com

LG’s LS860 ‘Cayenne’ visits the FCC, flaunts Sprint LTE bands
News from Engadget:

After making the rounds with Mr. Blurry Cam, Sprint’s rumored LG LS860 ‘Cayenne’ handset has taken a breather from its photo tour and made a stop at the FCC. The federal filing reveals that the smartphone uses LTE bands tailored for the Now Network (CDMA 850 / 1900; LTE Band 25) and totes NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, SVLTE (simultaneous voice and data) and the usual suspects of WiFi b/g/n and GPS. If other details previously gleaned from the grapevine hold true, the mobile will be powered by a flavor of Android 4.0, pack a 4-inch WVGA screen and a 1.2GHz dual-core S4 processor. There’s no word from LG or Big Yellow about the phone’s official debut, but its FCC appearance means that it could soon show up packaged and properly photographed in the US.

LG Eclipse to Come to Sprint; Currently at FCC
News from The Droid Guy:

The LG EclipseLS970 smartphone may still be a rumor – especially when it comes to the actual specifications, but it is a matter of public record now that it will be available on Sprint.  The phone appeared on the FCC’s site yesterday and we can now tell that the phone will certainly support CDMA, EVDO and LTE network types on Sprint.  These are of course beside the standard network and connectivity features including dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, LTE radio and USB 2.0.

So far, the rumored specs of the LG Eclipse are a quad-core Qualcomm S4 Krait processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory, companion Adreno 320 GPU and a 8MP rear camera with a 1080p HD video recording capability.  All these are, of course, still rumors as we have not yet come across more detailed reliable specs for the smartphone.  If these rumored specs are true, then this could grow to become a more superior smartphone than the Nexus Ga…………… continues on The Droid Guy

LG LS860 Cayenne for Sprint, LG MS770 Motion 4G for MetroPCS appear in …
News from PhoneDog:

Shortly after leaking details on a Samsung-made Android phone for Verizon, the @evleaks Twitter account has now posted details on two unannounced LG handsets. The first device is the LG Cayenne for Sprint, which we’ve seen a couple of times in the past. There’s also a physical QWERTY keyboard bolted on.

Meanwhile, MetroPCS customers can reportedly look forward to the LG Motion 4G making its way to their carrier. The Motion 4G features the model number MS770 and is rumored to sport a qHD (960×540) display on its face and a 5-megapixel camera around back.
