LG and Qualcomm Holding Event on September 19, Ready for a Snapdragon S4 …
News from Droid Life:

At the end of August, and just before the start of IFA in Berlin, LG announced the Optimus G. At the time, I referred to it as a “beast” because of its insane specs and the fact that the phone is the first to sport Qualcomm’s new quad-core Snapdragon S4 with an Adreno 320 GPU. Beyond the processor, it also has a 4.7″ True HD IPS display with 320ppi and will look equally as good as the new iPhone 5 display because it’s full sRGB. Not only will it look brilliant, but is the first to use LG’s G2 Touch Hybrid technology which means the display itself is ultra thin and cuts down on reflections. We’re talking a serious phone here, folks.

So when LG invited us to their September 19 event in NYC where they have partnered up with Qualcomm, we immediately thought, “Optimus G for the U.S.?” We don’t have confirmation on that being the case or anything, but what else could it be? Qualcomm wouldn’t be headlining another dual-core Snapdragon S4 phone event, right?

We’ll know for sure next week when our man Kover is on the scen…………… continues on Droid Life

Verizon Intuition by LG Review
News from SlashGear:

The folks at Verizon and LG have teamed up to bring you a device exclusive to the both of them here in the USA – the LG Intuition – made to take on the phablet segment of the market with a fury all its own. But what can LG offer the 5-inch display-toting smart device universe that the Samsung Galaxy Note (and now the Note II) haven’t already? Have a peek here at the one and only competing device to take on the larger than a smartphone but smaller than a tablet market currently on Verizon – and see if LG’s convinced us that a 4:3 aspect ratio display is all its cracked up to be!

The LG Intuition is the USA version of the device we’ve known up unto this point as the LG Optimus Vu, it having been revealed earlier this year at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Mobile’s Crazy September: Apple, Nokia, Motorola, HTC, Intel, LG, and Amazon
News from PC Magazine:

If you were going to buy a phone today, don’t.

An absolutely crazy month of new phones and tablets is starting tomorrow, with not only next week’s iPhone 5 but a new Amazon Kindle Fire, several Windows Phone 8 launches and two major 4G phones for Verizon Wireless.

And that’s just September. In October, we’re likely to see an “iPad Mini” and all of those Windows Phone 8′s hitting the market. But these upcoming few weeks are enough for us.

Here’s what’s on tap from everyone, in chronological order.

Nokia: On Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. ET, Nokia will launch its new range of Windows 8-powered Lumia smartphones. Nokia has been busily seeding so-called leaks of photos and specs through a viral marketing agency with which it works. According to the rumormongers at continues on PC Magazine

Coolpad Quattro 4G (MetroPCS)
News from PC Magazine:

By Sascha Segan

The first U.S. smartphone from prominent Chinese phone maker Coolpad shows that the company has a ways to go before it can compete with top manufacturers like LG and Samsung here in the states. The Coolpad Quattro 4G gives you a 4-inch, 800-by-480 screen for $ 99, and since it’s on MetroPCS, you don’t even need to sign a contract. Its performance is slow enough, though, that we can’t recommend it.

Will Verizon be launching LG Intuition on September 15th?
News from The Droid Guy:

In this amidst crowd of Smart phones, we have another stiff competition at our hands in this September. Who is it this time? Samsung? HTC? It’s neither Samsung nor HTC; in fact it’s none other than LG, joining the big league of Smartphone companies like Samsung and Apple, to be releasing their phone next month.

The LG Optimus VU is coming to Verizon finally. This isn’t something new for the daily techno buffs since we’ve been hearing this news from a very long time and it’s about time the phone comes out. However, there is something new from the daily news, the carrier, as Verizon plans on changing the name of the phone which would soon appear on the line named as the LG Intuition.

There have been leaked pictures seen of the phone over the internet, which we suspect aren’t the real ones however we’ll still give you a quick review about it. The press render seems to show the all new Optimus VU/ Intuition with the collaboration of Verizon. The pictures are pretty much similar to the live pictures which have already been seen by most of us.

Another interesting thing about the phone is that it gives us clues towards the date when the phone is likely to be re…………… continues on The Droid Guy

Coolpad: We Can Build Better Budget Phones
News from PC Magazine:

MetroPCS today announced the Coolpad Quattro 4G, the first U.S. smartphone from Chinese firm Yulong Coolpad.

The Quattro 4G is $ 99 without a contract, but Coolpad says it can offer a better build quality and better radio performance at $ 99 than its competitors.

This may be Coolpad’s first U.S. phone, but it’s a well-known name in Asia. Yulong Coolpad has been making phones since 1993. The brand “Coolpad” comes from the old “PDA days,” when the company was known for its Chinese-language handwriting recognition software, Nick Chen, president of Coolpad Americas said.

Like its much larger rivals Huawei and ZTE, Coolpad is based in Shenzhen. With 3,000 employees, it’s only a tiny fraction of those other companies’ size. But it punches well above its weight; continues on PC Magazine

HTC, Samsung, and LG to launch Mango devices in September; Nokia in October
News from Zunited:

It’s full steam ahead for Microsoft and Windows Phone 7.5. Fujitsu announced the first Mango device just a couple of days ago and now the rumor mill is churning, saying HTC, Samsung, and LG (the original three) will be launching their respective Mango devices this September.

According to a report from DigiTimes, “branded handset vendors including” (but not limited to?) “HTC, Samsung Electronics, and LG Electronics all plan to launch Microsoft’s Mango-based smartphones in September.” The report doesn’t fail to mention that the iPhone 5 is rumored to launch in September as well and these devices would be competing with the Apple device — though, it should be noted that was probably not any handset maker or Microsoft’s intention.

Nokia, meanwhile, will announce its line of Mango devices at Nokia World 2011 to take place in October. DigiTimes notes that this could be a good strategy as Mango bu…………… continues on Zunited
