Just now, LG went ahead and announced the Optimus G Pro for markets other than Japan. Much like the Japanese variant, this device sports a full 5.5″ HD 1080p display, along with a quad-core processor. The device will come in both black and white, while incorporating a curved glass design, giving the phone a 2.5D effect. 

While taking a quick glimpse at the backside of the device, you will notice a glimmering “Digital Cube” effect. Although, overall design wise, this phone looks like a mix of the Galaxy S3′s front and the One X’s back. Looks pretty nice if you ask us.

The world of 3D smartphones is rapidly becoming a reality thanks to HTC’s Evo 3D and the LG Thrill 4G.

The Evo 3D will be available on Sprint, while the LG Thrill 4G will be available on AT&T. While there are other 3D phones on the market these the first big-name brands available in America.

HTC revealed its 3D phone along with the HTC Evo View 4G, which is the company’s 7-inch tablet. The Taiwanese company said it is the first 3D phone to be glasses free. The phone uses the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system, has a 4.3 inch screen and a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm snapdragon processor. Tim O’Brien, vice president of marketing for LG Mobile Phones, spoke about the importance of technology and innovation in the industry’s 100+ history during the 3D Entertainment Summit at CEA Line Shows held in New York this week.

“3D is a promise in progress. It’s about to be mobile in a big way,” said O’Brien.

O’Brien stressed the need for us to continue to innovate and that LG will be a game changer by “giving everyone an easy and accessible way to interact with the content they love – and do it in a more realistic and authentic manner than any 3D experience we’ve seen yet.” That game changer, he says, will be the LG Thrill 4G smartphone.
