T-Mobile MyTouch Q

T-Mobile MyTouch Q
News from CNET:

Android phones with honest-to-goodness real physical keyboards rarely cross my desk these days. That’s why I jumped at the chance to give the new $ 49.99 T-Mobile MyTouch Q by Huawei a spin. This device is a follow-up to the first MyTouch Q made by LG but sports a bigger screen and faster processor. It may not be small, light, or slim, but for its low price this handset serves up basic Android, nimble 4G data, plus a usable keyboard in an attractive budget package. If you can live without a physical keyboard, T-Mobile also sells a version of the MyTouch, identical in every way but without a slider for the same price.

Besides its recycled name, the T-Mobile MyTouch Q (Huawei) might also confuse you with its doppelganger looks. The handset is practically a mirror image of its predecessor, the first T-Mobile MyTouch Q manufactured by LG. Both phon…………… continues on CNET

T-Mobile, Huawei Announce New MyTouch Phones

T-Mobile, Huawei Announce New MyTouch Phones
News from PC Magazine:

T-Mobile and Huawei today announced two new smartphones aimed at entry-level users, the myTouch and the myTouch Q.

These are the seventh and eighth phones in the very similarly named myTouch lineup, which has veered from early adopter Android devices to high-end HTC models to free-with-contract, entry-level LG units.

The latest MyTouches come with 4-inch, 800-by-480 screens and 1.4-GHz single-core Qualcomm S2 processors, so they’re a step up from last year’s LG models. Both phones have a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera, and both run Android 2.3, even though the current version of Android is now 4.1.

I asked Huawei’s U.S. vice president of external affairs, Bill Plummer, about the Android version situation, and he was frank. With other manufacturers also delivering phones running old code, Huawei isn’t going to lead when it comes to delive…………… continues on PC Magazine

LG F180 flagship phone surfaces, quad-core S4, 13MP cam and LTE onboard
News from Tech2:

Just yesterday, we talked about a mystery phone being developed by LG which was rumored to have a 10MP camera and quad-core CPU onboard. Today, we have another leak, thanks to AndroidAuthority that talks about LG’s next possible flagship offering codenamed F-180. It’s difficult to say whether yesterday’s leak and today’s point to the same device but at least with the F-180, we have details about some of its possible specifications as well. The F-180 should be powered by a Qualcomm APQ8064 SoC, which is their quad-core Krait offering with Adreno 320 GPU onboard. The phone is also said to have 2GB of RAM, which seems to be soon becoming the defacto standard amongst high-end phones. The F-180 will also have LTE capabilities, which is good news for markets like the US. As for the display, we hear that the F-180 will sport a massive 5-inch HD display so we are looking at a

T-Mobile’s Next myTouch Devices Will Be Made By…Huawei

T-Mobile’s Next myTouch Devices Will Be Made By…Huawei
News from TmoNews:

T-Mobile’s myTouch line is their staple line and it all kicked off with the original myTouch, from HTC back in 2009. Skip forward two years and LG takes over with a pair of phones under the myTouch brand. Now, in 2012, T-Mobile will introduce Huawei as the next manufacturer for the myTouch.

We’re looking at two Gingerbread-powered devices, the U8680 and U8730, two identical devices save for the keyboard. Both phones sport a WVGA 800×480 resolution and that’s about all we know spec wise.

Huawei might seem like a strange-choice for T-Mobile to bring to the myTouch name, however, don’t discount Huawei’s global presence and size in the Chinese market. Huawei continues to become more of a recognized name in the United States so it’s likely we’ll see more devices, including higher-end offerings reach the T-Mobile and AT&T network in the future. Perhaps we’ll see another Huawei-branded device in the future? Hint hint.

T-Mobile’s myTouch entries aren’t typically higher-end offerings, geared more to…………… continues on TmoNews

LG Optimus L3 set for March UK release
News from Mazuma Mobile:

02/03/2012

The newly announced LG Optimus L3 – unveiled at this week’s Mobile World Congress – is set to be released in the UK and other parts of Europe in March before a US release date is announced.

LG’s new mobile phone offering is a 3.2-inch low-end device in the L-style design series, however, the firm is confident the Android operating system it runs on will make inroads into the market.

President and chief executive officer of LG Mobile Communications Company Dr Jong-seok Park said the firm has always believed in the need to offer a variety of smartphone options and this phone will offer real value for money.

“We think the Optimus L3 offers all of basic smartphone-related benefits but in a more premium package that hasn’t been seen before on a smartphone in this category,” Dr Park was quoted as saying.

LG also unveiled a further addition to its Optimus line earlier this week.

HTC Amaze 4G, Sensation 4G, LG DoublePlay, myTouch And myTouch Q Nearing End …
News from TmoNews:

Here’s a bit of interesting news to keep us talking over the weekend as a new T-Mobile inventory screengrab has fallen into our inbox indicating the HTC Sensation 4G, HTC Amaze 4G, LG DoublePlay, LG myTouch Q and LG myTouch are nearing their end-of-life status. We should remind you that “end-of-life” does not mean the Amaze 4G will immediately disappear from store shelves — if anything there could be still be weeks worth of inventory sitting in T-Mobile warehouses. That being said, the idea that the top two HTC Android phones on T-Mobile are nearing the end of their run hopefully tells us something new is on the horizon. The HTC Ville perhaps?

As we look down the list at the LG handsets nearing end-of-life, we’re asking ourselves if anyone out there is terribly surprised that the myTouch and myTouch Q along with the…………… continues on TmoNews

LG-made T-Mobile myTouch and myTouch Q Android smartphones coming soon
News from Unwired View:

T-Mobile USA has (almost officially) introduced two new LG Android smartphones: the T-Mobile myTouch by LG, and the T-Mobile myTouch Q by LG.

Both handsets appear at the carrier’s website as “coming soon.” Probably running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the myTouch and myTouch Q share most of their features: 1GHz processor, 5MP camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, and even 4G.

The myTouch is a touchscreen only phone, while the myTouch Q has a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

T-Mobile leaks two myTouch phones from LG
News from SlashGear:

T-Mobile may have accidentally leaked two upcoming myTouch smartphones from LG after the carrier uploaded a trio of videos to YouTube that appeared to be tutorials. The videos were quickly set to private, but that’s not before a snapshot was taken of one of the videos showing the two phones side-by-side.

AndroidGuys caught a quick glance at the clips before they were set to private and noted that the file names indicated that one phone was an all-touch device while the other included a QWERTY keyboard. It’s believed that the devices will be called the T-Mobile myTouch by LG and the T-Mobile myTouch Q by LG.

Currently, T-Mobile has the myTouch 4G Slide</…………… continues on SlashGear
