LG Bringing KnockCode to More LG Phones Via Future Firmware Update
News from Droid Life:

Ever since it was introduced with the LG G2, the KnockOn tap-to-wake software that LG patented has been a major focal point of its OEM software. LG even improved its own design by announcing KnockCode alongside the G Pro 2, which will launch later this year. Apparently, demand was so high for creating a personalized knocking pattern to unlock your device that LG is bringing it to more of their older devices.

According to a survey done by LG, over 50 percent of the participants listed KnockCode as their most anticipated feature of the G Pro 2. After hearing that kind of response, LG has announced plans for its LG G Flex and the G2 to receive KnockCode sometime in April.

No hard date has been set in stone and neither has the list of devices to receive this update. LG promises to keep us updated in “the weeks ahead” to give us more details of when exactly we can expect this firmware update to come through.

LG’s first smart light bulb flashes when you get a phone call
News from Engadget:

LG isn’t about to let household heavyweights like Philips corner the connected lighting space — it just unveiled the Smart Lamp, its first take on the concept. The 10W LED bulb gives Android and iOS users a familiar level of control over their illumination, including a light-based alarm clock and a security mode that pretends you’re at home. There are a couple of noteworthy tricks in this initial offering, however. The light connects through both Bluetooth and WiFi, letting it pull the sync-based stunts we’ve seen in a few other bulbs: it can flash when…………… continues on Engadget

LG L90, L70 Dual phones appear for sale in India
News from Phones Review:

In February LG announced some new Series III smartphones including the L70 and L90. There’s some good news today for those in India as the affordable LG L90 and L70 Dual have now both appeared for sale there.

Although these devices have not yet been launched by LG in India, the L90 Dual is listed on the official LG India website without pricing, although the LG L70 Dual isn’t listed at all just yet. Both phones are now listed at online retailer Snapdeal though, and the LG L90 price is Rs. 17,499 while the LG L70 price is Rs. 14,500.

The really appealing factor of these phones for many is that they both run the latest version of the Android operating system, 4.4 KitKat. As the name suggests, the LG L90 Dual and L70 Dual are dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) devices.

You can see details on specs and more at our launch article about these phones here, where we also gave information on the lower-end LG L40. Do you think you might purchase the LG L90 or L70 Dual?

LG Optimus Elite
News from titan silver – CNET:

Stop me if you’ve heard this one, but I’m going to tell you about my experiences using an LG Optimus phone. All right, I know that’s a bit snarky, but it’s difficult not to make a joke when you’ve seen so many members of the Optimus family (more than a dozen when you factor in the various carrier versions). The new LG Optimus Elite has more in common with its Optimus S granddaddy than it does with the high-end LG Optimus 3D Max that LG unveiled at Mobile World Congress earlier this year. Behind a very simple design and a 3.5-inch display is a midrange feature set that runs on Android Gingerbread and an 800MHz processor. Outside of the Google Wallet support, there’s not much to get excited about, but not all phones have to be exciting. Call quality is fine, but it could be better.

The Optimus Elite is available with Sprint in titan silver and white for $ 29.99 with a two-year service agreement and a $ 50 mail-in rebate. I reviewed the titan silver version, but the features are the same for both models. You also can buy it with Sprint’s prepaid subsidiary, Virgin Mobile. There it will cost you $ 149.99, but you won’t sign a contract.<…………… continues on titan silver – CNET
