iPhone 6 vs LG G3 comparison: LG’s impressive specs challenge Apple’s flagship
News from ChristianToday:

iPhone 6

Today, the iPhone 6 will go head-to-head with LG G3. These are undeniably two of the hottest handsets to date, so readers stuck with the same picks may turn to this comparison to come to a decision.

The Apple iPhone 6, like all other Apple devices, is genuinely classy. With its high-end aluminum casing, LG G3′s faux metal plastic is clearly no match. Nevertheless, LG G3 also looks quite handsome.

The Apple’s flagship is the company’s kickstarter in their full-sized handset line-up. Its screen display measures 4.7 inches diagonally. Nevertheless, the LG G3 trounces this with its 5.5-inch display. This, however, makes the Apple iPhone 6 slimmer and lighter, gauging 6.9 mm and 129 grams, respectively. The LG G3 looks bulky beside the iPhone 6 with its 8.9-mm thickness and 149-gram weight.

The larger of the rivals delivers 1440 x 2560 pixels generating 538 ppi pixel density. Apple brings 750 x 1334 pixels at 326 ppi. The resolution offerings are very much attuned to the phone’s display size, which means sharp and crisp details are expected of the two. Even so, LG G3 has bit of the upperhand in this department.

The LG handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdra…………… continues on ChristianToday

AT&T LG G Flex review: Interesting display tech and excellent battery life
News from ZDNet:

Summary: LG launched their curved display phablet, but the premium price isn’t justifiable given the low display resolution, mediocre camera performance, and odd button placement.

India’s costliest Android phone goes official
News from Times of India:

NEW DELHI: LG has officially launched its first curved screen smartphone, G Flex, in India at Rs 69,999. The model had been unveiled in the country in December last year, and is the first smartphone in the market to have a curved display. It has been available for the past couple of days via online stores in the country.

At this price, the model is the most expensive Android smartphone in the market.

LG’s latest offering, G Flex, combines innovation and technology along with sleek, curved design that not only delivers a more comfortable grip and fit, but offers better voice and sound quality. LG phones beat Samsung in battery life

LG phones beat Samsung in battery life
News from Android Community:

LG is claiming battery superiority, and it has just performed tests designed to prove it. LG tested its own Optimus G against a Samsung Galaxy S III. This is an interesting move on LG’s part. Going directly at one of its competitors and coming out ahead with a feature as important as battery life could be quite important for LG.

Both devices sport 2,100 mAh batteries. They put the devices head to head for talking on the phone, and watching and filming videos. According to LG, the Optimus G came out ahead on all fronts. LG’s results show that one could talk on the phone for 15.8 consecutive hours on the Optimus G compared to 9.5 hours on the Galaxy S III. They also found that the Optimus G records videos for 3.8 hours and plays them for 7.9 hours. The Galaxy S III, on the other hand, records for 2.8 hours and plays for 7.3 hours.

LG says the tests were conducted using the same conditions for both devices. Both phones were set to 50% backlight for the entirety of the test and both were on LG’s Uplus network. They also tested both devices for reporters at an event and showed the real-time difference in energy consumption between the two devices.

LG says it did not do this test as an attack against Samsung. Rather, they were attempting to clear up some misconceptions abou…………… continues on Android Community

LG Miracle appears in real life, we start to believe
News from Engadget:

LG’s smartphone workshop is keeping itself busy. Alongside the manufacturer’s attempt to out-Note Samsung, its latest Windows Phone has resurfaced. A kindly mole has offered some better focused (but unfortunately watermarked to heck) shots of LG’s first Mango-laced Windows Phone. Skinnier that we expected, we can now make out a front-facing camera, paired up with a rear-facing five-megapixel primary shooter on the back. It’s still a prototype, judging by that not-so-subtle “not for sale” etching on the back, but expect the Miracle — when it does go official — to match those middleweight credentials leaked so far.

The Android conundrum
News from India Today:

Froyo, Gingerbread or Ice-Cream Sandwich? Dual-core or single-core? Keyboard or no keyboard? Motorola, LG, HTC, Samsung or Sony Ericsson?

Out in the market to buy a phone running Google’s Android mobile operating system? Welcome to the club of the largest mobile operating systems, but with over 200 devices running one version of Android or the other, choosing the right phone is hardly an enviable task. Let’s look at the two important things you have to keep in mind while buying an Android phone and the best devices at every Android price point.

Quad-core worth the wait:
Processors will only get faster every few months. Most of the fastest (and thus most expensive) Android devices are powered by either Qualcomm Snapdragon or Nvidia Tegra dual-core processors. But a greater number of cores does not make a processor that much faster; it just makes it more efficient at handling data.

Android devices can have multiple processes on at one time, but multi-core processors could prevent phones from hanging, which is a constant issue with early Android models.

Buying a multi-core processor is expensive, so getting a dualcore device such as the HTC Sensation with a dual-core Nvidia Tegra processor can be an expensive proposition. Sure, the Sensation has ‘Augmented Reality’ applications, great video processing and what not. But is…………… continues on India Today
