LG launches new phone, new home appliances at CES
News from CNBC:

LG announced both an update to its Flex phone and a slew of home appliances and entertainment products at the 2015 International CES in Las Vegas on Monday.

The South Korean tech maker will release seven new flexible, curved and flat OLED TV models this year. The sets will span from 55 inches to 77 inches.

The company also unveiled an updated version of its curved phone, dubbed the LG Flex2. LG says the screen is crack proof and has a self-healing surface that lets users buff out scratches. Its screen curves from top to bottom and measures 5.5 inches.

It also comes with a new gesture view feature that gives users the ability to take photos and preview them with the wave of a hand.

On the appliance side, the company’s new Twin Wash System enables separate loads to be washed at one time, with the company’s new mini-washer add-on.

The system uses Wi-Fi and near field communication technologies to translate to an array of smart-connectivity options, including LG’s HomeChat messaging service.

In the market for a budget LTE Android phone? Meet the LG F60
News from TechnologyTell:

Just so there are no misunderstandings, let me start off by rephrasing the question in the article’s headline. Is anyone in the market for a budget LTE-capable Android handheld that’s not the Moto G 4G? You know, the incredibly cheap, amazingly solid 4.5 incher Amazon sells for $ 199.99?

There is someone? Well, color me surprised then. Don’t get me wrong, the confusingly named F60 that LG just introduced has a few things going for it. But overall, it’s inferior to the G 4G, and my hunch tells me it’s going to be pricier too.

For now, LG’s mum on the subject of retail costs, merely claiming the F60 is aimed at “young and old users alike who are looking for the fastest mobile experience possible at a reasonable price”. Sounds vague enough for LG to ill-advisedly slap the F60 with, say, a $ 250 price tag.

The handheld, that’s not to be mistaken for the recently announced,

Goondu review: LG Optimus 4X HD
News from Techgoondu:

When it first turned up earlier this year at trade events, LG’s Optimus 4X HD was likened by some pundits as a close replica of fellow Korean electronics maker Samsung’s Galaxy devices.

That may be a slight to the folks at LG, but if you consider how well Samsung has been doing with its Galaxy phones, the comparison is not such a bad thing.

Indeed, after using the LG phone for close to a week now, I have to say it’s a nice addition to the range of Android phones that now spoil smartphone users when it comes to choice.

First, let’s just get the comparisons out of the way. The Optimus 4X HD does have a squarish face that resembles the Samsung Galaxy S II. The soft back cover which you peel off to reveal the battery, SIM card and microSD card slot is also reminiscent of the other Korean-designed phone.

But increasingly, phones are becoming simil…………… continues on Techgoondu
