Phone Comparisons: LG G Flex 2 vs Google Nexus 6
News from Android Headlines – Android News:

Do we have a good one for you today – the new LG G Flex 2 goes up against the new Google Nexus 6.  Even though different manufacturers – LG and Motorola – make these devices, they do have a few similarities that we can shout out about.  The displays are only one-half inch different and they both use the OLED display technology.  Both devices have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage – with the G Flex 2 you can add a microSD card for additional storage and with the Nexus 6 you can order a 64GB model, but there is no expansion beyond that, as Google wants you to use the cloud to store your data.

The main cameras have almost identical specifications – 13MP sensor, OIS, Autofocus, and dual-tone flash.  The G Flex 2 has a superior Laser Autofocus for quicker focus times and the Nexus 6 has its flash designed into a ring around the camera lens, rather than off to the side.  The front-facing cameras (FFC) are almost identical – 2.1MP on the G Flex 2 and 2MP on the Nexus 6.  Both batteries top the 3000mAh size with the G Flex 2 hitting it the nail on the head and the Nexus 6 ups the size to 3220mAh, although both devices will easily get it through a day of usage and both devices have a Quick Charge for the b…………… continues on Android Headlines – Android News

Phone Comparisons: LG G Flex 2 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4
News from Android Headlines – Android News:

Have we got a good one for you today – the newest LG G Flex 2 goes up against the newest in the Note series, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.  Both devices are awesome looking with their small bezels and build quality.  Samsung went with a full metal frame and trim that really accentuates the faux leather backing, giving it that much desired premium look and feel.  LG retained an improved version on its self-healing curved back and while a fingerprint magnet, it is very catching and pleasing to the eye…not to mention comfortable to hold.

Even though these devices have vastly different audiences and built by competing companies, they do have several items in common.  The displays are very close in size – 5.5-inches for the G Flex 2 and 5.7-inches for the Galaxy Note 4 and both use a form of OLED technology.  Both U.S. devices chose to use a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, although different models, and both have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, as well as having a microSD card slot for expansion.  Both devices are very similar in size, although the Galaxy Note 4 outweighs the G Flex 2 by 24 grams – probably the metal and larger battery. Both devices have the usual Dual-Band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1,…………… continues on Android Headlines – Android News

The Best Android Phone, Device On the 2014 Market : LG G2, Huawei, Google …
News from Latin Post:

There are a lot of choices when it comes to Android phones these days. A few years ago, Android phones were considered to be the cheaper version of iPhones and BlackBerrys, but with an increase in the number of companies developing Android phones, the choices have become a lot more interesting, but, which one is the best?

Each brand has its unique features. For most consumers who want to get a phone at a budget price, LG and Huawei are the best brand choices. Top ranking phones include Sony, Samsung and HTC.

One of the best choices is the LG G2. Set at over $ 200, the phone provides high-end features with impressive design. Aside from the lack of a microSD card slot, the rest of its features are a cut above the rest of the competition at its price.

Tech review: LG G Flex – World’s first curved, flexible smartphone
News from kdvr.com:

Posted on: 9:20 am, March 14, 2014, by Nancy Melear, updated on: 03:57pm, March 14, 2014

Flip phones were all the rage in the 90’s but over the past 7 years or so, candy bar style smartphones have taken over.  Flat phones.  Now, LG is out with what it calls the first ever curved, flexible smartphone. I had a few weeks to demo the new LG G Flex on Sprint.

First Impressions

The LG G Flex is big!  It has a 6” screen so it’s closer in size to a 7” tablet than it is to an iPhone.  The Phablet (phone/tablet) market has been growing over the past few years and the LG G Flex is one of the largest options in that category.

I also immediately noticed the awesomely bright and clear OLED screen.  The 720p resolution isn’t mind-blowing but the colors and…………… continues on kdvr.com

Google Nexus 6 Confirmed as ‘Lightweight’ LG G3 on July 2014 Release Date …
News from International Business Times AU:

Phone Arena reported this week that Google’s vanilla Android smartphone for this year will bear the LG logo on launch date. The new development, if true, douses cold water on speculations that surfaced last month that the Nexus phone will jump to Lenovo-Motorola.

Also, choosing LG for the Nexus 6 project makes sense for Google. Recall that the South Korean device manufacturer was also responsible for the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5, which were based respectively from the LG Optimus G and LG G2.

Citing Gizmodo Germany as source, Phone Arena noted too that in previous cases, the upcoming Nexus 6 will be the slightly stripped-down version of the LG G3. Specifically,

LG G Flex Mouth on Hand video suggests phone is a human
News from SlashGear:

Chris Burns

In a move that you’d expect only the Super Bowl crew of advertising agents would push forward, LG has created a spot for the LG G Flex with human lips. In a move that we’ve only otherwise seen Sony roll with on the Xperia Play, LG presents the LG G Flex as a device that’s “the most human phone ever.” We must assume that they mean the phone curves to the side of your face.

This spot begins with a Mexican singer playing a birthday song for Danny Boy, the character in the salmon button-up shirt. Afterward, the second character hands the first a present from himself and a photo of a person who couldn’t be there for the celebration. From there it gets extra-strange.

Danny Boy opens the package and finds an LG G Flex box much like we’ve seen with the international release of the device. Inside though, there’s no LG G Flex. Instead, Danny Boy finds his hand with a mouth on it. This hand begins to “ring”, and he places it against his face.

The “phone call” is from the third character who is taking a vac…………… continues on SlashGear

News from Daily Bhaskar:

After the success of Google Nexus 5, it’s expected that Google will launch the Nexus 6 handset this year. The dip in prices of Moto X has raised our hopes of hearing something about a Nexus 6 as soon as middle of this year.

We today are seeing fresh (concept) pics of the upcoming Nexus 6 handset in a curved LG G Flex kind profile. The new concept expects the handset to come designed around the curved LG G Flex.

LG confirms Google Nexus 4 shortage

LG confirms Google Nexus 4 shortage
News from ZDNet:

Summary: The shortage of Google Nexus 4 devices is a result of high demand, according to the handset manufacturer.

LG has confirmed that there is a shortage of Google Nexus 4 handsets.

The head of mobile at LG UK, Andy Coughlin, told CNET UK on Thursday that the phone “had proven extremely popular, and as such retailers have been met with huge demand”.

The shortage of Google Nexus 4 devices is a result of high demand, LG says.

“We are working closely with Google to ensure that those who wish to purchase a handset are able to do so,” Coughlin added.

Both the 8GB and the 16GB versions, which cost £239 and £279 respectively, are currently unavailable in the Google Play store.

The 8GB Nexus 4 is listed as “sold out” on the Google Play store, with customers advised to “check back soon”. Meanwhile, the 16GB version is described as “shipping soon”, with more stock expected in five to six weeks’ time.

While the Google Play store may be lacking Nexus 4 devices, both the 8GB and 16GB versions of the phone are available from Carphone Warehouse on Vodafone, Orange, Three, T-Mobile, and O2 networks. Mobile operator O2 is also offering the 16…………… continues on ZDNet

Google Nexus 4 shortage explained, by LG
News from PopHerald.com:

| This news article is posted under Tags: Android Jelly Bean, LG Mobile, Nexus 4. |

Apparently, the LG Nexus 4 is one of the hottest mobile devices right now — and could be on the verge of claiming the “most popular Android smartphone” title if the demand will continue.

According to LG, the underwhelming supply is related to overwhelming demand, so obviously, the device is still sold out because the Korean mobile phone maker can’t keep up with the growing demand.

LG’s UK mobile division told CNET…………… continues on PopHerald.com

LG Nexus 4 Review: Top 4 Tech Gurus Weigh In
News from Auto-o-Mobile:

Since arriving on the scene the LG Nexus 4 has been very well received, one of the reasons there has been an overwhelming response to the device is the fact that it comes with the pure Android experience.

The craze for Nexus handsets started with the Google Nexus One. This handset was only available through Google, but it didn’t reach the status of having massive sales. It was however a sign of the good things that was to come to Android.

Today the LG Nexus 4 is one of the most wanted devices on the market and the device feels superb in the hands of those lucky enough to be able to get hold of it. It is a little on the heavy side, however it’ brings with it the feeling of solidity.

The LG Nexus 4 happens to be smaller than the Samsung Galaxy S3 and it is a lot more comfortable to hold. Here is what top 4 tech experts had to say about the LG Nexus 4.

LG Nexus 4 review roundup

On behalf of The Telegraph, Matt Warman said: So the Nexus 4 features a lovely 4.7” display, with 320 pixels per inch that are indistinguishable from the iPhone 5’s 326ppi. The operating system is now so slick that there’s not that previously perceptible lag between moving it with you finger and the screen reacting. Some of that, of course, is down to the quad-core processor that is now absolutely standard in all top-end phones.

Average User Rating
News from CNET:

The wait for a decent LG phone on Verizon is finally over with the Spectrum 2.

Not only does it run the new(ish) Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, it also has a screen that doesn’t require two hands and a stylus. In addition, it’s priced right at the $ 100 mark, making it one of the more affordable Big Red handsets.

Design
With its noticeably sectioned back plate and defined edges, the LG Spectrum 2′s design looks more thought-out and deliberate than LG’s usual slew of devices, save for the high-end Nexus 4 and Optimus G.

It measures 5.31 inches tall and 2.69 inches wide. At 0.36 inch thick and weighing in at 5.16 ounces, it’s thicker and a bit heavier than most LG handsets I’ve run into, and it’s a tight fit in a small jean pockets, but it’s comfortable when held in the hand or pinned between the cheek and shoulder.
