LG Officially Unveils Optimus G Pro, 5.5″ Curved Glass Display Gives Off “2 …
News from Droid Life:

Just now, LG went ahead and announced the Optimus G Pro for markets other than Japan. Much like the Japanese variant, this device sports a full 5.5″ HD 1080p display, along with a quad-core processor. The device will come in both black and white, while incorporating a curved glass design, giving the phone a 2.5D effect.

While taking a quick glimpse at the backside of the device, you will notice a glimmering “Digital Cube” effect. Although, overall design wise, this phone looks like a mix of the Galaxy S3′s front and the One X’s back. Looks pretty nice if you ask us.

As far as when we can expect it to hit the States, there is no word from LG. What we do kno…………… continues on Droid Life

LG announces the launch of its new Optimus L Series 2 phones
News from Digital Trends:

At this year’s Mobile World Congress—an annual expose of the latest innovations in the mobile world that will take place later this month—LG announced that it will showcase its new Optimus L Series II, a line of phones they say continue the company’s tradition of sleek design and cutting edge innovation. The phone designs will stay true to the original Optimus L Series, but with noticeable improvements.

The company said that that the four major new design elements it focused on with this series are “seamless layout, laser cut contour, radiant rear design, and smart LED lighting on the home button.”

Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said of the new line: “LG has a history of pushing the envelope when it comes to style and Optimus L Series 2 builds on this heritage of design innovation. By evolving the sophisticated style and premium features of the original Optimu…………… continues on Digital Trends

I really liked the Samsung Galaxy S3, but I felt if was a little flimsy for what you paid for. The LG Optimus G has really stepped it up in quality. LG gives away 2000 specially modified phones for the blind
News from Engadget:

Skipping on the LTE, HD IPS screen or dual-processor is usually not a recipe that will land your phone on the pages of Engadget. But, these LG-LU2700Ss are not just any unspectacular flip phone. The handset has been specially modified for use by the blind and visually impaired. The manual is printed in braille and, rather than require the constant mashing of buttons, the phone is controlled primarily through voice commands. 2,000 of the devices were given away as part of the company’s donation program. Now if only they would mass produce them, LG would earn some serious cred.

LG Rumor 2 (Virgin Mobile)
News from PC Magazine:

The $ 89.99 LG Rumor 2 is Virgin Mobile’s version of the original LG Cosmos we reviewed on Verizon Wireless (3 stars). It’s a basic feature phone with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that should appeal to avid texters.

The Rumor 2 measures 4.4 by 2.1 by .7 inches (HWD), so it’s on the thick side, but it only weighs 4.2 ounces. The 2-inch display features 320-by-240 pixel resolution, which is standard for the class. The phone slides open to reveal a four-row QWERTY keyboard, with nicely spaced keys that should make this a good phone for typing long messages.

The Rumor 2 is a decent choice if you aren’t ready for a smartphone, though you’ll get a lot more bang for not much more buck with the LG Optimus V ($ 129.99, 4 stars).

LG Connect 4G Will Be Metro’s Next LTE Phone, Could be Headed for Sprint and Verizon
News from Phandroid:

Our friends at PocketNow have uncovered another unannounced phone. It’s said to be named the LG Connect 4G and is headed to regional carrier MetroPCS’s LTE network. It’s a shame that their network isn’t everywhere because we’re sure more than a few people wouldn’t mind having a powerful 4G phone for a cheap monthly cost.

PocketNow describes it as mid-range but we’re not so sure that’s the case. It’ll supposedly be boasting 1GB of RAM, a dual-core processor, a 4 inch WVGA Nova display, 4GB of internal storage, a 5 megapixel rear camera, a front-facing camera and more. they speculate it could be headed for both Sprint and Verizon, though we’re not sure where their estimation comes from.
