LG G3 review: A fantastic device with a simple, logical interface
News from Digital Spy UK:

LG‘s Android efforts of late have been nothing short of fantastic. The G2 was a beautiful bit of kit, more than the equal of Samsung’s offering at the time, the Galaxy S4.

Now comes the G3, the phone to end all phones – the turning point, LG no doubt hopes, that will put its mobile devices ahead of the competition.

But can it? Is LG’s latest enough to take on the might of Samsung marketing dollars? Could this be the ultimate Android phone thus far?

The Good

  • The screen
  • User interface
  • Camera

The Bad

  • Still too much plastic
  • Battery life has taken a hit

LG G Watch hands-on: This is Android Wear
News from SlashGear:

Chris Davies

Android Wear is one of the big announcements of Google I/O today, and one of the first to ship will be LG’s G Watch. Set to go up for preorder on Google Play today, priced at $ 229.99 and expected to ship on July 7th, we grabbed some early hands-on time and caught up on some of the design decisions with LG.

The G Watch hardware is perhaps the most discrete of the three Android Wear designs we’ve seen so far, eschewing the obvious metal of the Samsung Gear Live or the circular display of the MOTO 360. LG has used metal too, though its’s a discrete black- or gold-coated stainless steel, cut from a single block. On the wrist, it’s fairly compact, though the 9.95mm thick body does stand a little proud of the arm.

The standard bands are…………… continues on SlashGear

Is this LG’s first Windows Phone 8 device?
News from CNET:

Dubbed the Uni8, the device sports the familiar Windows Phone 8 interface, at least in this image provided by Evleaks.

LG could be getting into the Windows Phone 8 game, if a new image popping online turns out to be the real deal.

An image posted by oft-accurate tipster Evleaks shows an LG phone with the traditional Windows Phone screen. Dubbed the LG Uni8, the device could see the light of day this year, according to Evleaks’ tweet as it specifically lists 2014.

The Uni8 resembles a traditional Windows Phone handset with the tiled home screen and the familiar navigation keys at the bottom. But otherwise, the leak doesn’t reveal any specs or details about the device.

CNET contacted LG for comment and will update the story with any further information. In February of 2013, LG told CNET that it had no immediate plans to sell a Windows Phone 8 handset, citing a l…………… continues on CNET

LG G3 press renders leak to show phone in full glory
News from TrustedReviews:

Official looking LG G3 images have leaked, with the prematurely teased press renders showcasing the upcoming handset in all its high-end glory.

With the heavily rumoured, but currently unconfirmed LG G3 having been the subject of multiple leaks in recent weeks and months, the first official shots of the device have now popped up, once again showing the handset in a trio of lustrous hues.

Despite giving the clearest, most professional look at the handset yet, the press images offer no further insight into the device beyond what has already been seen.

Shown in black, silver and gold colour schemes, the LG G3 looks set to feature an expansive, edge-to-edge display and a slimline, brushed metal or metal effect body.

Sticking with a design principle introduced last year, the G3 has been shown with a smaller, more refined rear button configuration, with the phone’s power and volume keys sat beneath the integrated camera and dual-LED flash offering.

According to recent rumours, the LG G3 will boast a 5.5-inch QHD panel, with a stunning 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution.

On top of this visual party piece, the handset is expected to feature Google’s latest And…………… continues on TrustedReviews

The Best Android Phone, Device On the 2014 Market : LG G2, Huawei, Google …
News from Latin Post:

There are a lot of choices when it comes to Android phones these days. A few years ago, Android phones were considered to be the cheaper version of iPhones and BlackBerrys, but with an increase in the number of companies developing Android phones, the choices have become a lot more interesting, but, which one is the best?

Each brand has its unique features. For most consumers who want to get a phone at a budget price, LG and Huawei are the best brand choices. Top ranking phones include Sony, Samsung and HTC.

One of the best choices is the LG G2. Set at over $ 200, the phone provides high-end features with impressive design. Aside from the lack of a microSD card slot, the rest of its features are a cut above the rest of the competition at its price.

Tech review: LG G Flex – World’s first curved, flexible smartphone
News from kdvr.com:

Posted on: 9:20 am, March 14, 2014, by Nancy Melear, updated on: 03:57pm, March 14, 2014

Flip phones were all the rage in the 90’s but over the past 7 years or so, candy bar style smartphones have taken over.  Flat phones.  Now, LG is out with what it calls the first ever curved, flexible smartphone. I had a few weeks to demo the new LG G Flex on Sprint.

First Impressions

The LG G Flex is big!  It has a 6” screen so it’s closer in size to a 7” tablet than it is to an iPhone.  The Phablet (phone/tablet) market has been growing over the past few years and the LG G Flex is one of the largest options in that category.

I also immediately noticed the awesomely bright and clear OLED screen.  The 720p resolution isn’t mind-blowing but the colors and…………… continues on kdvr.com

2nd Nexus 5 or Optimus G Pro 2? LG Device Codenamed LG-D830 with 16MP …
News from International Business Times AU:

From Phone Arena, the LG-D830 was detected courtesy of a benchmark test result with the gadget registering top numbers in browser performance. The same report hinted too of a 1080p display resolution or mirroring the same screen prowess that was seen in the Nexus 5.

What makes it a Nexus 5 second build candidate? CNET noted in a report that LG-D830 is sequentially related to LF-D820, which of course is the LG-assembled Nexus 5. However, the tech site allowed that it could be an entirely different animal, likely of the high-end breed.

Cross referencing the D830 to the LG G2, which carries the model number LG-D802, keen LG watchers could arrived to the conclusion that it is the second coming of the mildly successful Optimus G Pro.

For the 2014 edition, the chatters suggest that LG will dub the D830 as the G Pro 2. Among its so-called power specs and features is an awesome…………… continues on International Business Times AU

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro to power LG quad-core device
News from CNET:

An unnamed phone from LG “currently in production” will be powered by the Snapdragon S4 Pro.

Qualcomm announced today that a yet-to-be-unveiled LG quad-core phone will be powered by its own Snapdragon S4 Pro.

Though the company told CNET that it can’t comment on the device until LG makes its an official announcement, it did say that the handset is “currently in production” and will be sold in Korea in September. It will launch globally sometime afterward.

Despite how little there is to know about the handset, we’re excited nonetheless. And if it’s going to be anything like LG’s first quad-core phone, the LG 4X HD, it’ll be sure to please.

Leaked Docomo document reveals new LG, Sony and Samsung Nexus phones
News from NDTV:

We have been hearing about Google’s plan to launch multiple Nexus smartphones this year for quite some time and now a leaked document from Japanese telecom operator seems to have confirmed that.

According to a report in blog Android Noodles, Samsung, LG and Sony will be launching Nexus smartphones this year. NTT DoCoMo’s winter line-up has revealed the device named as Samsung Galaxy Nexus II, LG Optimus Nexus and Sony Xperia Nexus.

The names do not sound surprising as they represent each manufacturer’s Android device branding.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus II was also leaked a few days ago as GT-I9260, which is minor revision to the existing Galaxy Nexus. It will feature 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display, 1.5GHz dual core processor, 8MP rear camera, 1.9 MP front camera and 16GB internal memory with microSD card slot.

There is no word on the specifications of other two smartphone except the fact they will have NFC on-board.

The leaked line-up has also revealed few other phones as well such as Sony Xperia Walk (a Walkman branded Android phone from Sony), LG Optimus Bright II, LG Optimus Tab II, HTC J,…………… continues on NDTV

LG Lucid Review: A device with a lot of glossy goodness

LG Lucid Review: A device with a lot of glossy goodness
News from CNET:

With its snappy processor and a solid display, this midrange Android phone is a solid buy.

by Lynn La April 6, 2012 12:42 PM PDT

The two main things I have against the LG Lucid is that it has subpar call quality, and it glitters in sunlight. Kind of like how vampires do, circa 2005-2008.

The sparkling isn’t actually that noticeable. In addition to that, it’s only limited to the back of the phone, which has a subtle dark purple and black-striped design. This aesthetic might not be for everybody, however.

As for the call quality, there’s no way to get around that. Voices sounded muffled and harshly tinny, but calls were always steady and didn’t cut in and out.

Despite it being shipped with Android Gingerbread (it is upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich, but it would have been better, of course, if it natively came with ICS), I liked this handset.

If you buy it off of Verizon’s Web site and sign a two-year contract, it’ll set you back a reasonab…………… continues on CNET
