LG G3 review by TechRadar
News from Telegraph.co.uk:

The LG G3 smartphone has been tried and tested by TechRadar.

Featuring a micro SD slot, metallic frame design and QHD screen, the G3 is initially an “impressive” new phone. Regarding the screen however, TechRadar noted “it doesn’t feel like LG is offering a huge deal more” than its predecessor, the LG G2.

Highlights include the phone’s updated interface, “a visual triumph”, and 3,000mAh battery power, making it one of the most powerful phones on the market.

G3′s camera also boasts a laser auto-focus that is “blisteringly fast”.

LG details Optimus UI 3.0 for ICS phones

LG details Optimus UI 3.0 for ICS phones
News from SlashGear:

LG has today announced the introduction of its new user interface for LG Optimus phones running Ice Cream Sandwich. Optimus UI 3.0 will feature major modifications to the stock Android experience, offering similar features to what you might find with Sense and TouchWiz but with LG’s unique twists. The UI will be available on the LG Optimus 4X HD and LG Optimus LTE II when they both launch.

Users will be able to unlock the home screen by dragging anywhere on the display, and customize a pattern unlock that opens specific functions on the phone, such as the camera. Speaking of the camera, here’s an interesting function: LG will let users take photos using voice commands instead of pressing the shutter button, and like Sense and TouchWiz, you can fire off multiple photos and then select the best one from the group.

Android users love to customize every aspect of the OS, and LG seems to have picked up on that detail. Optimus UI 3.0 will feature customizable icons, so you can use custom photos and images instead of the stock Android or LG pictures. LG also say they’ve…………… continues on SlashGear

LG Optimus Elite hits Virgin Mobile for $ 149.99
News from Android Community:

And now, we present our prime candidate for the most poorly-named phone since the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch (breathe): the LG Optimus Elite. This phone is now available from Virgin Mobile’s website and retails stores for $ 149.99, and like all Virgin Mobile (US) devices it comes sans contract. The phone is launching on Virgin three days before it was expected to hit the parent company.

So why are we down on the name? In and of itself it’s no worse than the next phone, but we feel somewhat miffed that a device that fits squarely into the low end is described as “Elite”. Not that there’s anything wrong with low-end phones – they’re a necessary part of the market, and a large part of why Android is now the dominant mobile platform on the planet. We just wish the name better reflected that.

For interested parties, the Optimus “Elite” comes with a 3.5-inch 480×320 screen, an 800mhz single-core processor with 512MB of memory and 4GB of storage space. Naturally Gingerbread is running on the software side of things, but you do get extras like Swype. Thanks to integrated NFC, Google Wallet should be available on the Elite, making it probably the cheapest non-contract way to get you…………… continues on Android Community

Details on LG’s Nexus Prime rival emerge
News from TechRadar UK:

More detail has emerged on the forthcoming flagship LG LU6200 – the Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone that will be competing with the likes of the rumoured Google Nexus Prime from Samsung.

LG are keen to put a troubled time in smartphones behind them, and they will hope that the LU6200 can be the handset that gets them back among the big guns, although it will no doubt have a snappier moniker by then.

LG has put up a page in Korean with the full specs and we now know that it will sport a whopping 4.5 inch 1280×720 HD screen with IPS screen panel technology – the same seen in the iPhone 4′s Retina Display.

Gig of RAM

Under the hood, the LG handset will boast a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor, an impressive 1840mAh battery and an Galaxy S2-matching 1GB…………… continues on TechRadar UK
