LG G Flex vs LG G Flex 2
News from TechRadar:

The LG G Flex impressed in a number of ways, not least because it was the world’s first curved smartphone, but ultimately it felt more like an over-priced oddity than anything that was likely to catch on.

LG is obviously serious about curves though, because it’s back with the LG G Flex 2, a smaller yet more powerful and still very much curved phone. So just what has changed? And is the G Flex 2 enough of an improvement to have mainstream appeal?

Read on for a run-down of how these two handsets compare when it comes to their design, screen, power, camera, interface, battery and storage.

LG G Flex vs LG G Flex 2: Design

The LG G Flex and LG G Flex 2 have largely similar designs as you might expect. Both phones have a curved body and buttons on the back, while the front of both phones is almost bezel free at either side of the screen.

But there are some differences. For one thing the LG G Flex 2 is quite a lot smaller and lighter,…………… continues on TechRadar

LG Optimus 2X to Receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich?

LG Optimus 2X to Receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich?
News from The Droid Guy:

LG Optimus 2X is rumored to get the Android 4.0 update. But until last month, it was totally denied that the LG Optimus 2X will not be getting the Ice Cream Sandwich. However, things might have turned around for the Optimus 2X now because there seem to be a glimmer of hope for those who still believe – word on the street has it that LG’s Korean office has claimed that an Ice Cream Sandwich OS update is still in the company’s pipeline. However, there is a very high possibility that additional testing is still required.

Although, there are no promises made by the manufacturer to deliver the software update, but LG just might do their best to deliver this update to their users. Keep in mind that patience will play out the entire scenario and we do wonder whether the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will be released on the selected markets or will it be available for LG Optimus 2X user’s state side as well.

The LG Optimus 2X or otherwise known as the LG-P990, was presented last year as the first and the fastest dual core smart phone on the market. The LG Optimus 2X won all the benchmarks people threw at it and most of those tests were not even using the latest features that its NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor can accelerate.

LG Optimus 4X HD Phones 4 U pre-order & Cheryl Cole
News from Phones Review:

If you are over here in the United Kingdom, and have had your eyes on the LG Optimus 4X HD, and perhaps a fan of songstress Cheryl Cole, as long as you are quick off the mark, you can now pre-order the LG Optimus 4X HD smartphone from Phones 4u, and the first fifty people to pre-order the Android smartphone will also receive tickets to see Cheryl Cole live at the LG Arena in October.

Each of those first 50 people who pre-order the LG Optimus 4X HD, including upgrades from Phones 4u will be given two tickets worth 100-quid to see Cheryl perform in October. Cheryl recently topped the iTunes charts with ‘Call My Name,’ and is taking ‘A Million Lights,’ her 3rd Album on her first solo country wide arena tour in October.

Those customers who are lucky enough to get the Cheryl Cole concert tickets will be able to watch her perform songs from all three of her solo albums on the 12th of October at the LG Arena in Birmingham, although I do have to be truthful and have to say that as this promo kicked off two days ago the chances of being amongst that first 50 to pre-order are probably quite slim to say the least.

Still even if you don’t win a pair of ticket to see Cheryl Cole doing her thing, if you are in the market fo…………… continues on Phones Review

LG Spectrum’s Ice Cream Sandwich is “very close”

LG Spectrum’s Ice Cream Sandwich is “very close”
News from SlashGear:

Everyone is talking about the latest version of Android, version 4.1 also known as Jelly Bean. But there are millions of smartphone owners who still haven’t gotten the update to version 4.0. That version of Android, known better as Ice Cream Sandwich, is now poised to grade the LG Spectrum phone, as Google and manufacturers continue to push out as many updates as possible.

A company representative posted a message on an official LG forum in which he wrote that the update to the recent version of Android, also known as Ice Cream Sandwich, is “very close to release.” It seems that the only part of the process still needing to be finalized is on the Verizon side of things.

Ice Cream Sandwich is one of the biggest updates to Android yet, and includes such features as scanning your face to unlock the phone, a much more robust speech-to-text software program, and an entire platform of data sharing that focuses on Near Field Communication (NFC). Several other manufacturers have pledged support for the new update, and a bunch of phones currently running an older version of Android.

LG Unveils 55-Inch OLED TV
News from About – News & Issues:

The annual CES is quickly approaching and teaser announcements from manufacturers are starting to fill my e-mail box. One of the big pre-show announcements is coming from LG, via its LG Display division, who will be on hand at this year’s show with a new 55-inch OLED TV. Why is this significant?

Well, at just about every CES held for the past several years, one or more manufacturers have displayed OLED TV prototypes, or proposed production models, in various screen sizes, but just as the press gets all excited, we never see any OLED TVs on store shelves, except for a short-lived 11-inch model from Sony and 15-inch model from LG. Other than that, OLED has been relegated to Cell Phone and Tablet screens.

However, the announcement by LG that it has a 55-inch OLED TV that i…………… continues on About – News & Issues

LG Optimus U1 may be first LG phone with Android Ice Cream Sandwich
News from SlashGear:

Some images have surfaced that are purported to be of an upcoming LG smartphone, possibly called the LG Optimus U1. The device appears to sport a large screen, is incredibly thin, and could also be LG’s first smartphone to ship with Google’s latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich update.

There aren’t many details to go by on this unannounced device besides the leaked images. Although sources suggest that it will be LG’s first Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone, it’s not clear whether it would ship with the update installed or will get updated later on. What casts doubt is that it sports a home button, but Ice Cream Sandwich doesn’t require any dedicated buttons.

News from infoSync World:
An upcoming Nexus HD could be the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone. A source describes something that smells like a LG Revolution successor.

It isn’t news that Google is working on a new Nexus smartphone to be powered by Android Ice Cream Sandwich (Android Chief Andy Rubin semi-announced it last month), but specifications and focus area (the Nexus S 4G focuses on NFC, and will soon become a Google Wallet phone) has been up in the air so far.
