LG Bringing KnockCode to More LG Phones Via Future Firmware Update
News from Droid Life:

Ever since it was introduced with the LG G2, the KnockOn tap-to-wake software that LG patented has been a major focal point of its OEM software. LG even improved its own design by announcing KnockCode alongside the G Pro 2, which will launch later this year. Apparently, demand was so high for creating a personalized knocking pattern to unlock your device that LG is bringing it to more of their older devices.

According to a survey done by LG, over 50 percent of the participants listed KnockCode as their most anticipated feature of the G Pro 2. After hearing that kind of response, LG has announced plans for its LG G Flex and the G2 to receive KnockCode sometime in April.

No hard date has been set in stone and neither has the list of devices to receive this update. LG promises to keep us updated in “the weeks ahead” to give us more details of when exactly we can expect this firmware update to come through.

LG CNS partners with Korean telecos to launch NFC access control system
News from NFCNews:

Korean IT service provider LG CNS has signed a memorandum of understanding with telecos KT and LG U+ to launch an access control system that uses NFC-enabled phones in place of traditional work ID badges.

LG CNS staff and employees are scheduled to pilot the new service this October, followed by a commercial roll out delivered through the NFC infrastructure established by KT and LG U+. LG CNS is also planning to add new features to the service over time, including a business traffic card, employee welfare point payment, and salary-linked small-sum payment services.

LG Remote Call app puts LG staff in control of your phone to fix it
News from CNET UK:

Phone playing up? Can’t work out what’s wrong with the blessed thing? Before you hurl it against a wall — stop! A new LG service lets LG staff fix your phone by reaching into it with their minds.

Well, with their computers actually. When you contact LG customer services with a problem, they’ll connect to your phone over 3G or Wi-Fi, accessing settings and tracking down the problem.

Unless you have a problem with 3G or Wi-Fi, in which case you’re on your own, Sunshine.

The service will be available to owners of premium Optimus smart phones, including the LG Optimus 2X, Optimus Black and Optimus 3D. A Remote Call app is installed on the phone, so LG wonk…………… continues on CNET UK
