LG G Flex 2 Now Available From Sprint For $ 200 On Contract, $ 504 Outright, Or …
News from Tech Times:

LG G Flex 2 has finally hit U.S. shores. The incredibly bendy and self-healing phone is available exclusively from Sprint.

Get your back pockets ready for a new curved phone experience. LG’s G Flex 2 curved screen smartphones are finally available from Sprint for a contract price of just $ 200.

Sprint will also offer the top-of-the-line smartphone in Platinum Silver and the exclusive “Volcano Red” color.

Although the incredibly bendy and self-healing phone (from minor scratches at least) already debuted in its homeland of South Korea last month, March 13 marked the phone’s launch on U.S. shores.

The phone is only available with Sprint at this time and the mobile carrier offers several options for the unique curved screen phone

First, you can opt to buy the phone outright for $ 504, plus taxes, without a contract.

If that sounds a bit too hefty for your budget, you can also opt for Sprint’s Easy Pay installment plan, which breaks down payments into 24 monthly drops of $ 21. Incidentally, that’s the

LG G4 looks set to be even bigger than we expected
News from TechRadar:

A new rumour about the upcoming LG G4 claims that it will come with a 5.6-inch screen, placing it firmly in the phablet category.

The new leak comes from the @OnLeaks twitter account, which is generally well regarded for its tips on smartphones that have yet to be released.

Although the LG G4 could see a big increase in screen real estate compared to the LG G3, another rumour suggests that LG will release an even bigger handset, possibly called the LG G4 Note, later this year with a 5.8-inch display and its own stylus.

News from The Next Web:

Ahead of the Mobile World Congress trade show, LG has unveiled an LTE variant of its fashionable Watch Urbane that will support calls over VoLTE without a phone, as well as NFC payments.

Unlike the Android Wear-based original, the LG Watch Urbane LTE will feature a proprietary OS that the company says is not webOS, which runs its smart TVs and was shown off on an Audi watch. It also has a walkie-talkie feature for group voice chats as well as an SOS button to quickly place a call to your contacts in case of an emergency.

It will also sport sensors for GPS and fitness tracking, as well as atmospheric pressure and heart rate monitoring. The watch will also support translate foreign languages via voice recognition. LG G2 Kit Kat Update Available From Verizon Via Upgrade Assistant

Friday, April 18th, 2014

LG G2 Kit Kat Update Available From Verizon Via Upgrade Assistant
News from Droid Life:

The LG G2 Kit Kat (Android 4.4.2) update from Verizon is finally available as build VS98024A, though you can’t exactly grab it over-the-air. No, sir, this update is currently only available through Verizon’s Software Upgrade Assistant, which is only available on Windows for LG phones. Sorry, Mac homies.

In order to update on Windows, all you have to do is plug-in your LG G2, then either wait for Windows to prompt you for an action or open a folder and look for a Verizon/LG drive to appear. In that folder, you should find a SWUpgradeLauncher app that will walk you through the steps to getting your Kit Kat on.

The update weighs in at around 2GB, so it’s substantial.

No word yet on when the update will be available OTA. In fact, Verizon’s own support pages still do not show that the update is available even though you can manually update through their software upgrade tool.

The process is pretty painless, so don’t be scared to give it a shot if you have a Windows machine. I was able to do it just fine on a virtual Windows 8 partition on my iMac.

Second-generation LG Optimus L7 leaks, supports dual SIMs
News from Phandroid.com:

LG will give their L series a second whirl around the sun with what is being called the LG Optimus L7 II Dual. How’s that for a name? To followup to last year’s L7, a budget phone with a focus on style, the new device will launch as a mid-range compliment to LG’s more robust Optimus offerings.

The phone is rumored to run a 1GHz dual-core CPU, 4.3-inch IPS display, 8MP am era, and dual-SIM support. The latter option usually indicates a launch in Asia (no brainer), but it’s typical in the smartphone industry for a company to manufacture a single SIM version for release elsewhere. The phone runs Android 4.1 and carries a 2460mAh battery.

The Optimus L7 II will be available in multiple colors towards the end of February, according to the leak. Last year’s models were released at MWC, and there is no reason LG won’t do the same in 2013.

T-Mobile LG Nexus 4 Available On Wirefly for $149.99

Tuesday, January 29th, 2013

T-Mobile LG Nexus 4 Available On Wirefly for $ 149.99
News from The Droid Guy:

We’re all pretty sad about the availability issues that the LG Nexus 4 is seeing, but it seems like Google anticipated that beforehand as it partnered with American carrier T-Mobile to bring the device to interested buyers with a two year contract. However, even T-Mo’s version of the Nexus 4 was sold out within days if not in minutes like the Google Play Store. But the device is back in stock and interested customers can rush to T-Mobile stores to get the smartphone again. It will require a two year contract as you all know but will require you to only spend $ 199.99 initially, with monthly plans to choose from. But if your luck doesn’t favor you, you might find that the Nexus 4 is sold out even in T-Mobile or Best Buy stores. Which is why we recommend you have a look at this listing on Wirefly.com which is offering the Nexus 4 with a decent $ 50 discount off the original contract pricing. And yes, shipping is free.

It seems like LG hasn’t quite figured out a way to keep the Nexus 4 in stock. With so much on LG’s plate right now especially with the MWC 2013 event coming up next month, we shouldn’t expect the Nexus 4 stock issues to improve anytime soon. We spoke about this in det…………… continues on The Droid Guy

LG Spectrum 2 From Verizon Offers Wireless Charging, NFC, 4G
News from eWeek:

Verizon Wireless is now offering the LG Spectrum 2. Priced at $ 99, the Android smartphone features a 4.7-inch display, wireless charging, NFC and mobile hotspot features.

Verizon Wireless is now exclusively offering the LG Spectrum 2, a 4G-enabled smartphone that has cherry-picked a few key features from around the industry.

Priced at $ 99.99 after a mail-in rebate (that’s of course with a two-year contract), it may in particular pose a challenge to Nokia’s new Lumia devices, which share a key feature—wireless charging.

The Nokia Lumia 920 was introduced in September with accessories that make it possible to take a wire-free power nap on a charging pillow; the lower-end 820 has a removable back that users can swap out for a different color or a with back that enables the phone to charge wirelessly. The Spectrum 2 comes with a wireless charging cover in the box.

A global Android device running 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), the Spectrum 2 features a 4.7-inch True HD Advanced High Performance (AH) In-Plane Switching (IPS) display with Corning Gorilla Glass. It runs a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, comes with 16GB of internal storage, suppor…………… continues on eWeek

Canada: LG Optimus L7 now available from Fido and Rogers

Canada: LG Optimus L7 now available from Fido and Rogers
News from IntoMobile:

Rogers Wireless and its prepaid arm Fido have started accepting orders for the LG Optimus L7, which if you recall, is the best device from LG’s recently unveiled L series of phones.

Rogers is asking a single cent for the phone as long as you put your signature on a new 3-year contract, while Fido will give the device completely free with “select 3-year Fido Agreements.” Don’t want to sign a contract? No problem – Rogers will take you $ 274.99 for the Optimus L7, while Fido asks $ 300. Not sure why there’s a price difference, but hey – these two gotta differ somehow, right?

Anyway, specs wise LG’s baby comes with a 4.3-inch WVGA screen, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, 5-megapixel rear camera, 1GHz single-core processor, GPS, Bluetooth, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of built-in storage, while Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is running the show. All in all, it’s a pretty solid mid-ranger, offering decent value for the money…

Mobile OS: Windows Phone 8 To Be Revealed
News from DigitalVersus:

In this fine month of June we can expect changes a-plenty in the world of mobile operating systems. At the top of the list, Microsoft will be unveiling Windows Phone 8 (Apollo) in just a couple of weeks.

A year and a half ago, the firm from Redmond, WA introduced its first smartphone platform (Windows Phone). Despite the support of a handful of big-name partners (HTC, LG and Samsung, who since have switched to Android for subsequent releases), and despite Microsoft’s agreement with Nokia to make Windows Phone its sole operating system, Windows Phone has struggled to bolster its relatively meagre market share. And the growth of its MarketPlace app store (100,000 apps) still hasn’t helped better its position, innovation and originality notwithstanding. In an effort to gain new ground, Microsoft will be releasing the new version of its Windows Phone OS at the end of the year along with the PC and tablet version of Windows 8.

Microsoft has announced that a number of new features and interface changes for Windows Phone 8 will be presented on 20 June at the annual conference for the developers working on the OS.

According to a Microsoft spokesperson we met a few days ago, Windows Phone’s existing partners (all except L…………… continues on DigitalVersus
