LG and Samsung to Produce More Bendy Smart Phones This Year
News from KDramaStars:

South Korean-based phone manufacturers, LG and Samsung, boldly brought bendy smartphones into the hands of consumers last year. Apparently, they are planning to pull off the same thing again this year.

Yes, these famous phone makers are planning to release new phone models with very flexible 5-inch screens, like highly durable, and bendable displays. According to these companies, the first of its kind should probably come out sometime during September.

Samsung and LG have launched flexible-screen mobile phone models in the past. These were Samsung Galaxy Round and LG G Flex. However, there are no further info about the continuation of the two models. What’s known is that both companies might introduce these smartphones, but they will be under different branding.

As for what to expect, Samsung is anticipated to have a three-sided display technology, while…………… continues on KDramaStars

LG G3 T-Mobile release date tipped, plus more devices

LG G3 T-Mobile release date tipped, plus more devices
News from Phones Review:

The LG G3 is a hotly anticipated flagship smartphone, but although LG recently gave some official news on when it would be available for some regions, there was nothing concrete on its US release. However, the LG G3 T-Mobile release date has now been tipped, along with another possible arrival date for two other devices.

Earlier this month we reported on leaked info that LG G3 pre-orders would be available on Verizon on July 10th with a release touted for July 17th. Although this has not been officially announced it did come from a very reliable source, and now it looks as though T-Mobile could pip Verizon to the post.

A release date has now been leaked by apparent inside sources for the LG G3 on T-Mobile, and it’s claimed that it will be available to customers on July 16th. No price for the phone has been given yet but it’s expected to be around $ 199 on contract or around $ 600 unlocked.

As a brief recap on the key specs of the LG G3 we can tell you…………… continues on Phones Review

LG G3 vs LG G3 Mini: Price and Specs Comparison in Australia
News from International Business Times AU:

South Korean multinational conglomerate company LG Corporation unveiled its new flagship phone LG G3 in five key cities around the world earlier this month.  But words have already been spreading around that the company is already engineering a smaller version of its flagship phone with the LG G3 Mini. So how does the smaller sister LG G3 Mini fare with the bigger LG G3?

Price

LG G3 is posted on the LG Australia Web site for AU$ 799 meanwhile the database for Indian export/import Web site Zauba showed that the price for LG G3 Mini is only around  AU$ 231. Given this price, smart phone users can already have three units of the smaller phone with the price of one bigger LG model.

LG G3 UK release date confirmed for June 26
News from TrustedReviews:

The LG G3 UK release date is upon us, with the latest flagship offering from the Korean manufacturer hitting British retailers today, June 26.

Having been officially unveiled late last month, the QHD display hosting LG G3 is now available in the UK, a little over a week ahead of the upcoming LG G Watch launch.

Previously the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 rival had been pegged for a July 1 arrival, so this new arrival – confirmed earlier this week – is sure to have appeased many eager consumers.

Already available in the company’s native Korea, the LG G3 pairs a 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440p QHD display with a minimalist bezel which ensures the phone isn’t too big in the hand.

News from Paste Magazine:

For the past couple years, it’s been hard for LG to stand out among the many, many players in the flagship Android smartphone space. HTC was known for its hardware, Nexus devices were known for their pure Android experience, and Samsung for its laundry list of features, but what about LG? Unfortunately, LG often stood in the shadow of Samsung and resorted to copycat features and designs. Even devices like the G2, which surpassed most of its competition on the spec sheet, just didn’t have the design finesse or marketing money to really get consumers’ attention.

After months of rumors about new designs and technology, LG announced the G3, a phone that by name sounded like just another annual upgrade. Yet the G3 may be the smartphone that we’ve been waiting for LG to build for a long time. Does this new smartphone stand out from the crowd or is it just another pretender? Let’s take a look.

Hardware

There’s quite a debate about how big a phone’s screen should be. iPhone diehards swear by their 4-inch wonders, while people looking to do more with their phones are increasingly looking to Android devices of the 5-inch or higher variety. While just saying the G3 has a 5.5-inch screen could…………… continues on Paste Magazine

‘It has to be able to fit their buttocks’: Foxconn CEO mocks curved displays …
News from PCWorld:

The curved displays on new smartphones coming from Korea were the target of a joke by Foxconn Technology Group’s CEO, who mocked the products as phones designed to fit the rears of consumers.

“People are talking about, wow, displays that can transform, but they forget that you have to be able to use the device,” Terry Gou said at the company’s shareholders’ meeting on Wednesday.

Both Samsung Electronics and LG have come out with smartphones built with curved screens, but Gou is less than impressed with the technology. The Taiwanese manufacturing giant assembles Apple’s iPhone and also competes in building TVs.

Gou recounted visiting the show booth of one of the Korean companies, where he asked the sales reps why the curved displays were needed.

LG G3 review: A fantastic device with a simple, logical interface
News from Digital Spy UK:

LG‘s Android efforts of late have been nothing short of fantastic. The G2 was a beautiful bit of kit, more than the equal of Samsung’s offering at the time, the Galaxy S4.

Now comes the G3, the phone to end all phones – the turning point, LG no doubt hopes, that will put its mobile devices ahead of the competition.

But can it? Is LG’s latest enough to take on the might of Samsung marketing dollars? Could this be the ultimate Android phone thus far?

The Good

LG G Watch hands-on: This is Android Wear
News from SlashGear:

Chris Davies

Android Wear is one of the big announcements of Google I/O today, and one of the first to ship will be LG’s G Watch. Set to go up for preorder on Google Play today, priced at $ 229.99 and expected to ship on July 7th, we grabbed some early hands-on time and caught up on some of the design decisions with LG.

The G Watch hardware is perhaps the most discrete of the three Android Wear designs we’ve seen so far, eschewing the obvious metal of the Samsung Gear Live or the circular display of the MOTO 360. LG has used metal too, though its’s a discrete black- or gold-coated stainless steel, cut from a single block. On the wrist, it’s fairly compact, though the 9.95mm thick body does stand a little proud of the arm.

The standard bands are…………… continues on SlashGear

Fire Phone vs. LG G3: Amazon’s big phone against LG’s spec powerhouse
News from Digital Trends:

Amazon’s highly anticipated smartphone event occurred today and the company announced its first venture in the smartphone game with the Amazon Fire Phone. Company CEO Jeff Bezos took to the stage at Fremont Studios in Seattle to highlight some of the Fire Phone’s best features and why it stands apart from the flooded sea of competitors.

Fans of Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablet will recognize some similarities, though the Fire Phone takes the technology further. Owners who jump to the Fire Phone during a limited time promotion will receive a free year of Amazon Prime, granting access to millions of songs, thousands of movies, and free two-day Amazon shipping. Amazon also introduced two new smartphone features: Dynamic Perspective and Firefly. Both of these are unique to the Amazon Fire Phone and have the capability to sway users from their Androids or iPhones.

Since Amazon hopes to gain ground in the smartphone market, we’ve decided to throw it up against some of the best smartphones around. So how does the Amazon Fire Phone stack up against LG’s upcoming G3 p…………… continues on Digital Trends

LG G3 review: the phone every Android OEM should make

LG G3 review: the phone every Android OEM should make
News from Android Community:

Nate Swanner

Latest in their lineup of flagship Android handsets, the LG G3 is one beast of a handset. Packing a big screen into a surprisingly small frame, there are two attractions that everyone keeps chatting about: that screen and the battery life. After toying with the G3 for a few weeks, we’ve drawn our conclusions. Is this the Android phone to beat?

Hardware

We will note, straight away, that we are not testing the US build of the G3. That final US model will be largely (if at all) unchanged, save for the extendable antennae present on our South Korean model.

The G3 makes some interesting compromises. To get thin bezels, they placed the power key and volume rocker on the back. The plastic build of the phone feels anything but cheap, and it’s lightness is a stark contrast to the profile and appearance. We often equate heft to quality, and the LG G3 is both light and premium.

Having the power and volume on the back leaves the sides, top, and bottom relatively blank. There is a Micro USB port on the bottom, along with a headphone jack. A small microphone on the top and bottom of the phone are also there, but other than that — you get a thin, metallic strip breaking up the mostly white body.</…………… continues on Android Community

LG G3 battery: fully up to the challenge
News from androidandme.com:

Without a battery, a phone is nothing. It’s unable to perform any task. Unless, of course, you’re planning to use your phone as a hammer. But anything that requires the phone’s internals to actually work is a no-go, which means that the battery is of great importance on a smartphone. Too often we see high-end smartphones dominating in every aspect but the battery, so in our testing of the LG G3, we were interested to see how its battery performs.

We’re happy to report that the LG G3 is well up to the challenge of keeping itself going. The 3,000mAh battery is built to compensate for the powerhouse specs inside the G3′s body. We found that with moderate usage, it was easy to make it through the day from 7:00AM to about 11:00PM. The LG G3 left us with about 20% battery life at the end of the day, give or take a bit.

Editor’s Note: The review unit we were provided was a Korean LTE-A model. As such, all battery testing was done over Wi-Fi connections. Obviously, battery life will differ when using LTE, but we still felt that it would be important to report battery life based on Wi-Fi.

With a heavier day of usage, including streaming video and some games, the G3′s legs gave out closer to 5:00 or 6:00PM. Still, 11 hours of solid battery life is nothing to scoff at, and is more than we expected from a device like the G3.

What worried us abo…………… continues on androidandme.com
