Android Explainer Series: Best LG Android Phones and Devices
News from Android Apps Appolicious:

Need a reasonably priced Android phone that just works? Check out the LG Optimus line. LG jumped on board Android from the beginning and has been leveraging the mid-to-high range smart phone market segment effectively ever since.

Just like Android was designed to do, LG delivers one Android-based phone after another, very quickly, with just slight modifications to the case, buttons, and built-in hardware.

But mid-range isn’t all LG does. In 2011, LG has announced three new exciting Android products – the super thin LG B, the speedy LG Optimus 2X, and the first 3D Android phone appropriately called the Optimus 3D. They’ve even announced their entry into the tablet arena – the Optimus Pad.

Regarding apps, LG skins the OS to brand them for carriers, but other than that, does little to alter the standard user interface supplied by Google. So, for apps, you’ll be shopping the regular Android Market.I’ll explain everything you need to know about the devices and apps b…………… continues on Android Apps Appolicious

A Glimpse at T-Mobile’s LG Dual-Screen Android Phone
News from TheUnlockr.com:

With only one dual-screen phone on the market, Sprint’s Kyocera Echo, we were excited to catch a glimpse of what looks to be a potential competitor. Pocket-Lint was able to spend a short amount of time with the the LG dual-screen Android device.

The secondary display looks more limited than the Echo, but does sport an interesting slide out split QWERTY keyboard. This may take users some time to become accustomed to the unique keyboard. The secondary screen will launch whatever apps are positioned on it with room to add more.

The device does have a back LED camera, but the exact megapixel is still unknown. The devices was noted as being slightly cumbersome when handled so let’s hope this was not a finished product. Additional device specifications have not been confirmed.

The device is spe…………… continues on TheUnlockr.com

News from CNET:

LG’s mystery dual screen Android handset

(Credit: Pocketlint)

A new LG handset with a rather unique form factor has been spied in London this week. The unnamed device features a sliding QWERTY keyboard with a secondary display nestled halfway between the keys. Pocket-lint indicates that the Android smart phone was used as part of a demonstration by Orange and Kineto Wireless who were discussing the carrier’s Signal Boost technology.

According to Pocket-lint, the screen provides eight shortcuts to applications with six already accounted for. The other two would presumably left for the user to decide. Unfortunately, they did not get enough time to see if the second di…………… continues on CNET

Nexus HD by LG Could Be First Android Ice Cream Phone

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011

Nexus HD by LG Could Be First Android Ice Cream Phone
News from infoSync World:
An upcoming Nexus HD could be the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone. A source describes something that smells like a LG Revolution successor.

It isn’t news that Google is working on a new Nexus smartphone to be powered by Android Ice Cream Sandwich (Android Chief Andy Rubin semi-announced it last month), but specifications and focus area (the Nexus S 4G focuses on NFC, and will soon become a Google Wallet phone) has been up in the air so far. Last month, we said that it could possibly be a 3D model by LG featuring a Texas Instruments chipset, but the

LG Optimus 3D phone will soon be a reality

Monday, June 13th, 2011

LG Optimus 3D phone will soon be a reality
News from TG Daily:

Just as the world prepares for HTC’s glasses-free 3D phone, LG is ready to release its one as well.

The Evo 3D, HTC’s phone which will be available exclusively through Sprint in the US, will be released later this month and was expected to be the first autostereoscopic (glasses-free) 3D phone in the world.

However, the LG Optimus 3D, which was announced before the Evo 3D but then sort of vanished, may be trying to steal that spotlight.

While LG still has not released anything official about the phone’s release date, Amazon has stepped forward and decided to stamp a date on the device.

The online retailer’s UK site now lists the Optimus 3D at £600 (around $ 980), with a release date of June 20. This is for an unlocked version of the phone with no mobile carrier subsidy.

As for specific carriers, T-Mobile UK and Three have both expressed intentions to have the Optimus 3D available on their respective networks this summer.

As for when it will be…………… continues on TG Daily

LG Revolution Review: Solid 4G Phone

LG Revolution Review: Solid 4G Phone
News from PCWorld:

Another day, another 4G handset on Verizon. The LG Revolution ($ 250 with a two-year contract with Verizon; price as of 5/27/11) joins the HTC Thunderbolt and the Samsung Droid Charge as the third LTE device on Big Red. How does it stack up to the other two? While the Revolution is attractive and solidly built, the overlay LG slapped over Android isn’t the slickest. I wished LG would have kept the straight Android, like the T-Mobile G2x.

Sturdy, Attractive Design

I first caught a glimpse of the LG Revolution at Verizon’s big 4G kickoff at CES and was eager to get my hands on it. Measuring 5.03-by-2.63-by-0.52 inches and weighing 6.06 ounces, the Revolution is slightly larger and heavier than the Thunderbolt. For my small hands, it isn’t the most…………… continues on PCWorld
